Really not sure what to work on now.... Might just take it easy for a bit and wait for some codex to drop, play a few games and see where I want to go with my list. Maybe ill try finish up the Intercessor squad before something really cool drops!

I've been painting other armies (The Angry Marines), so its been a while since I looked at my Blood Angels! But! The new codex looks like a lot of fun and its time to get serious! So here is what I have been working on!

Chapter Monastery!

It will be my new display board for the next couple years, but also doubles as a peace of terrain. The Fortress/mountain is removable.

Here is a shot with some test models thrown on

I've decided to completely rebuild my Blood Angel army this year. To many old models with old painting techniques and bases that detract from the overall army look. So the next time I take them out for a spin I want all the models to be newish or at least painted in the last 2 years or so, as my techniques havn't changed to much in that time. So until they are ready I will be playing my Angry Marine army (which are hell fun by the way). If you'd like to check them out I have another thread in the WIP forum. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337754-always-angry-all-the-time/

I actually won best army with them at a 82 player event, which I am really proud of. BUT, Id really like to pull something like that off with my Beloved Blood Angels.

So the Rebuild begins with a Captain Smash, 15 Death company and I must finish that 5 man Intercessor squad! Pictures to come soon!

So this guy has been sitting on my unpainted shelf since 5th ed..... He was originally ment to be a Vanguard Veteran. But now reborn as captain smash! I gave him a new head and added the chest chalice cause it looked cool.

Also the first completed model for my age of Blood Angels!

Interesting Jolemai.... the only place I have put pictures up is here and in the wip forum.... and my very small fb feed. Do you have a link?

Getting confused, it was your feed I saw it on. Will keep an eye out all the same :tu:

How many Bastions, etc, did you use in total?

^ bunnings but it’s called simple orange, same stuff just different smell, in where they keep all the cleaning products

Ah yes - have seen that one (although the smell is a little... wrong :-)).

They definitely carry the green one too (or at least have in NSW). Onto my second bottle of it for reworking some ~15 yr old metal grey knights.

This conversion turned out so well I couldn't resist showing everyone before even getting paint on it! He will be the center peace to my new era of Blood Angels!

And a picture for size comparison! Bare in mind the base is a lot bigger!

gallery_48822_14062_113712.jpg

Your converted Mephiston looks great, but the Daemonic skull at the end of his fireball is concerning. Will he remain loyal to the Emperor and to Sanguinius' memory? Or will he fall down the same Slippery Slope as the Relictors and countless Radical Inquisitors whose attempts to "fight fire with fire" (use Daemon weapons against the forces of Chaos) eventually made them worship Chaos itself?

To face mephiston is to face darkness itself! He tears through the warp with pure strength of will, while the demons all flee in terror from the blinding light of his soul! The Emperor alone can hope to claim him, for not even the Chaos Gods dare risk the soulrending pain Mephiston will inflict upon them!

Fixed it for you, to show Mephiston is incorruptible.

Your Mephiston is really aweosme! What did you use for the skull shoulder? It works beautifully but I don’t recognise the component. (And I’m curious about that because I spent a long time looking for an appropriate piece for mine!)

Bjorn! You have a serious talent as a wordsmith! I love it! I might even copy that little blurb and attack it to my next display board! If you approve of course!

Neonmole it is one of the larger skulls from the newish skull basing kit. I had to cut it down a bit. It is still really big so I had to match it with a terminator should instead of a regular one. But the primaris models look alright with the bigger shoulders

Some very old models in this lot moved off my shelf of shame! Along with a couple new ones all painted together. I have another 8 assembled ready for paint..... but these guys seriously took forever to paint! It was very de-motivating! So many tiny details! I really should have used less BA bits and more standard marine stuff! The black does not seem to come through very well in these pictures, I swear it looks better in person!

I think my next job will be Lemartes and to finish off the Intercessor squad I started 6 months ago! Maybe then I can put some Paint on my new Mephiston!
