More update pics to follow in about a fortnight or so...

Does that marine look as if he needs the toilet or is it just me?

Ok, so I didn't hit my target of getting both Bastion Annexes complete before the new 'dex arrived; but I at least managed to get one of them done. I had to put down tools for a while because of Adepticon, and now that the new BA models are released I'm not sure when my next update will be. Anyway, here are some update pics.

Left Bastion Annex now complete, with lower Heavy Bolter Emplacements and upper Lascannon load-outs.

Barring the Angel Tower and Fortress entrances, which are pretty much done apart from some really minor additions (either honour scrolls, purity seals, or one or two icons etc), I'll be embellishing the annexes with a fair bit more stuff to spruce it up a bit. I just wanted to get the main frame complete so I had the footprint set to do the ground level.

Current work done to-date (and after finishing the first annex it's looking... well... a little larger than even I anticipated...).

Next pics, when I get there, will be the identical annex in reverse on the other side, and that will then be the middle section frame complete. Apologies again for the crappy camera; comments and suggestions welcome...

Starting to see a bit of a problem with warpage, mainly around separate joins that create a slight bending (joy ;) ), but no biggie for the moment. I should be able to straighten them out but this is already becoming a bit of a headache to ensure everything matches up with little to no errors, so that future levels and adornments fit without any problems...

@Dem ...it was certainly built with Planetstrike in mind (as well as a general display board), but it will definitely fit in an Apoc game. Providing I have a good camera to hand, I'll post pics of the first game played with it (at the same time Sanguinius comes back to life ^_^ ;) ).

Simply STUNNING brother Im not sure if I have commented before BUT yeah this is gread and makes me want to build some BIG scenery for my small group one question though how heavy is the tower? and would it be able to be mounted on top of one of the Annex buildings?

In case you want to have correct Latin, you need to correct the inscription on the banner:

in honorem pro Sanguinio

However, a Roman would never phrase it like this, he/she would say

in honorem Sanguinii

I knew it was never going to be exactly correct, and I didn't really want it to be. It's my version of Imperial Gothic, albeit slightly bastardised, but thanks for the correct translation Parcival :)

You'll be seeing yellow my friend. This might even be the perfect venue to introduce you to my nine Dread Planetstrike list.

Well, I may have to counter that with an 11 Dread list :tu: ! Isn't yellow the colour of running away btw, and I also want to remind you of the joint efforts of both our Chapters together at the Siege of the Emperor's Palace :)

one question though how heavy is the tower? and would it be able to be mounted on top of one of the Annex buildings?

The tower is relatively light. Sorry that's vague - the annex section is notably heavier but overall, those sections are seemingly thicker than the Angel facades. It would sit on an Annex building without any problems but you would have to put some sort of support on the inside of the annex up to the roof to ensure it's properly stable and unlikely to buckle though - something I intend to do, as part of the design builds up from the annexes (but that bit is a secret for now - no spoilers here :D ).

I feel your pain with the new models, hard to keep focused on projects you are mid-way through, but you HAVE to keep going with this one!

Yeah, going to be a bit of a balancing act for a while. Thank God they didn't release a Stormraven... yet :D

@Quantra/Inq Lensoven - Thanks guys, much appreciated. But bear in mind that I actually want this thing finished like yesterday, so I can play on it and display my army on it.... It's going to take me a - - - g - - - e - - - s to get to the end, especially now that my army needs expanding too. Bloody new and shiny codex ;) :Elite:

I hear you, its terrible. I also have about 5 units flying around in different stages - from "just primed" to "advanced progress" and none of them is finished. -.-

And still, I really love your fortress, incredible idea and conversion, kudos to you! :) And even if this takes ages to come to an end, I will anticipate pictures of the final version impatiently. ;)

So, taking a break from building huge Fortresses in the name of Sanguinius and the Emperor, I have been updating my BAs with the release of the new kits and Codex. Here's a quick selection of some of the recent additions.

Comments always welcome, and sorry the colour is a bit of a wash-out but it's hard to get decent light balance in our club basement :P Should be good enough to get an idea at least.
