Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Thanks for the coments guys ;) Hey Midnight. You have a pretty amazing BA force yourself bud :) I've been trying to decide what I wanted to do about Meph. I like the old model, but as you see, I like to alter things, lol. I think I'll be takin some inspirations from yours. Same goes for your DC. I been working out in my head how to make them look more...crazed. And I think yours aptly convay that. Dude, your stormravens look amazing. Did you use a lot of plasticard to redo the top vent and the engine mounts. WIP pic would be awesome. I am lousy at doing WiP pics. When I get into the groove, I completely forget about pics >.< But I ddid take this one when I was almost finished the build/converssion work. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_SR2_02.jpg The back part of the vent is the regular SR vent which comes in two pieces anyway. But I laid the to two pieces bottom edge to bottom edge to give a lower, wider profile. As for the engine mounts, I used the wings and the engine cowls. I have another SR kit, when I get some time I'll get it out and take some pics to explain what I did a lil better. Again, thank you for all your great comments guys :P CTK EDIT: PS. What little WiP pics I do manage to do, I post them in my WiP thread which you can get to via the link in my Sig. Cheers man; hopefully get an update soon, if I ever get off my lazy ass that is lol  :o :) Keep up the good work; and I look forward to more, especially the Lord of Death himself. The new kits make it easy to create new versions of old mini's, although my DC don't actually use too much of the new stuff as I still think of them as ccccccrrrazy standard marines painted black w/red crosses, just sort of bathing in the blood of His enemies!! btw that SR is excellent, your conversion work is seamless :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191747-ctks-blood-angels/page/4/#findComment-2774555 Share on other sites
Mortarion
How could I have missed that SR conversion before? Awesome work! It looks much better than the GW version. And the painting looks good as well. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191747-ctks-blood-angels/page/4/#findComment-2774876 Share on other sites
Chaptermaster Graymantle
Lots of great models here. The army overall is great and the larger Rhino is superb, but the Stormraven conversions really are the icing on the cake! Very, very well done! Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Thanks for the kind coments folks. I must admit I find larger models less enjoyable to paint (I love building tho, lol) And by time I finish them, I'm usually just rushing to get them done. The answer would probably be to spilt up the work while doing other models. But I don't like doing that either. So by time I finish a big model I am really not in the mood to do more. But when you guys give such praise, really helps me continue. Which I appreciate, because I have plans to do two even bigger models, lol (Yeah, I'm a succor for punishment.) I like your work too Mortarion. Love your Flesh Tearers, especially the battle wear and tear. I am not brave enough to try that on my figures. Vehicles yes, but not my figures. Thanks again folks. :) Next to come will be a Furioso Libby and a DC dread. Hopefully within the next week. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Hi folks. I have now finished the 2 Dreadnoughts and altered my 1st Furioso. First of all I present the Librarian Furioso, Brother Fierenzo. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FL1_04.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FL1_05.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FL1_06.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FL1_08.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FL1_07.jpg 2nd, may I present Brother Nobilus. A former Captain of the 2nd Co, who upon internment within the armour sargophicicus of a Dreadnought, succomed to the Black Rage. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_DCD1_02.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_DCD1_03.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_DCD1_04.jpg Since the release of GW's plastic Furioso with Magna graple, I decided to scrap the one I made on my 1st Furioso. I haven't painted the new graple yet, but I did re-do the fists. And have now upgraded to Blood Tallons. The Smoke launchers and Searchlight are magnetised, so I can remove them to add the Graple when needed. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FD1_01.jpg And here is a group shot of all 3 together. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_Dreads1.jpg Comments and Crits is welcome and appreciated as always. IronKobra
Oooh nice work! And that melta-gun heat effect is a lovely touch! Mind sharing your handling of it? Pretty please?! Jimmy Carmine
They look fantastic, my only quibble is the DC Dreadnought's banner. I think the banner should really be bent back a bit at the bottom corners to represent the wind blowing it back as the Dreadnought charges forward. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Thanks for comments guys. :P Oooh nice work! And that melta-gun heat effect is a lovely touch! Mind sharing your handling of it? Pretty please?! I may use it to spice up my Moriar conversion :) Not sure what I mean by handling of it. But it you mean painting technique. Chaos Black base > Iyanden Darksun for the body of the Melta. Highlighted with Bleached Bone and shaded with Gryphon Sepia. Drybrush the end with Chaos Black for the scorched affect. For the 'flame' again from Chaos Black base > Hawk Turquoise > Ice Blue > Skull White, making sure each colour is painted finer, or neater, (exept the black) than the previous. So for example, when you paint the Ice Blue, you can still see a little of the Hawk Turquoise. I usually water the paint down a little, So there is a little blending. Hope this helps. They look fantastic, my only quibble is the DC Dreadnought's banner. I think the banner should really be bent back a bit at the bottom corners to represent the wind blowing it back as the Dreadnought charges forward. I agree with you completely mate. And I had the same thoughts when I was making it. But I was having problems getting the plasticard to bend even when I was heating it. It would bend, then straiten out once it cooled. I gave up in the end. CTK Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191747-ctks-blood-angels/page/4/#findComment-2786213 Share on other sites

Urb
I'd be proud own such models. I think I'd prefer black over red writing on the scrolls but that's just my preference. Solid Zaku
While I cannot abide by your signature (the Emperor loves kittens!) I must say I've been waiting for an 'HK Stormraven' for the longest time. The only part of it that I could fault is that you used the T4 instead of the T1/2 version. Hah, just kidding, they're great. Hah, just kidding, they're great. lol, its not my personal belief. I have cats too. I just saw it and laughed my a$$ off. As for the HK. The reason I went with the T4 version and not the others. There are plenty T4 HK toys out there and they're fairly cheep. I paid about £11 or £12 each I think. Where as the T1 and T2 HK are much rarer and much more expensive. If I remember, I don't think I saw one for less than £80 :/ CTK Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191747-ctks-blood-angels/page/4/#findComment-2786933 Share on other sites
Midnightmare
Great looking dreads there, nicely done. I'm a sucker for dynamic poses and you have certainly nailed the 'running dread' pose! Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Everything prior to the Assault Squad was: Chaos Black spray. Mechrite Red Blood Red (I think the technique I used is termed overbrushing? Similar to dry brushing, but not removing aas much paint.) Highlighted with Blazing Orange Shaded with Dark Flesh. Then blended slightly with a watered down blood red. (1:1 aprox) From the assault squad onwards (including the assault squad): Dragon Red spray from TheArmyPainter (Becareful not to spray to think as it can eat your detail very quickly) Then continue as before. Blood Red (I think the technique I used is termed overbrushing? Similar to dry brushing, but not removing aas much paint.) Highlighted with Blazing Orange Shaded with Dark Flesh. Then blended slightly with a watered down blood red. (1:1 aprox) With the Dragon Red spray I could miss out the Chaos Black spray and the Mechrite Red saving time. I do still use the Black then Mechrite method when spraying the red is not practical. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Hi folks. Here are my latest models. A 5 man Death Co. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Hi folks. Been a month since I posted anything new.. So here be my latest works. I've been working on two Predator Tanks. One is one of my MK1 Conversions, the other is just a regular kit. As usual, I have magnetised the weapons so I can take pretty much any loadout on both tanks. The only exception (for the moment) is I can only take one Annilator Pred as I only have one Twin Linked Lascannon between them (for now) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_PR3_6_02.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_PR3_6_04.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_PR3_6_03.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_PR3_01.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_PR6_01.jpg Next I will be making a start on a FellBlade, I have everything I need appart from time too do it (although I may also run out of paint). So watch this space. Also, I had some amazing good fortune recently I think I have already mentioned in the past that I had a bad habit of getting bored with the hobby and then giving away my army(s) later to regret this. Well 2 weeks ago and ex neighbour of mine came looking for me. I had given him my previous BA army from about 10 years ago and a Black Legion army from about 9 years ago. And almost a shop full (only a slight exageration) of unbuilt stuff.. I gave it all to him aboout 8 years ago for his Grandson who lived with them. Well the grandosn has grown up and onto other things (and looking at the figures, I'd say he was never really interested in them.) And wanted to give them back to me. Dang, felt like the last 10 christmas' all rolled up into one!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/DSC01193.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/DSC01194.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/DSC01195.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/DSC01196.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/DSC01197.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/DSC01198.jpg Anywho.. The Blood Angels I am definatly keeping although there is definately a noticeable difference between the old and new. It is just too good an opetunity to miss. Also, I WILL be selling my Black Legion on Ebay in about 2 weeks time. I will post detailed pics of them on here when I put them on Ebay, so watch out for them  Comparison shots. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_Comparison_01.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_Comparison_02.jpg I think I am going to leave the 'metalics' untouched. But I plan on using some washes to bring down the bright bright BRIGHT red from the old, to be more in like with the darker grittier red of my newer force. I am also going to rework some of the detailing, perhaps swap out a couple pieces to tie it in with my current BA force. The only thing I haven't decided upon is weather to have them 2nd Co. too or make them a different Co. of BA. As always C&C is both welcome and appreciated. AGPO
I'd say go with a different company. Captains are allowed to customise their own heraldry so you can use it to explain differences between the two forces. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Thanks for the replies guys. :D I've had nearly a month to think about what to do with my old models. And I think I am going to make the old models into the same Co as my newer stuff. I am going to stick to the Codex for Co organisation, and the surplus units I am going to alter to be either another Co of BA or from 2nd founding chapters. Anywho... New stuff. Building/painting has been fairly slow this past month. Lot of real world stuff been taking up my time. But I finially got my Super Heavy Fellblade tank finished. Well.... I still have to varnish it, but the weather is not co-operating at the moment. But other than that it is done. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FB_01.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FB_02.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FB_03.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FB_05.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BA_FB_04.jpg The tracks I haven't painted quite the same as previous models, but that is because I ran out of some of my paints and haven't had the time to go get some more. The main Turret and mounting plate, the 3 smaller Turrets, the engins and fuel tanks and the tracks are resin mod parts and are produced by an American company called Blood and Skulls Industries. Any comments, critisisms and questions are all welcome and appreciated guys. Hope you enjoy :D CTK Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191747-ctks-blood-angels/page/4/#findComment-2881502 Share on other sites
