OMG's Angels Sanguine

(just barely) Week #2

After reviewing my models I determined that my basing approach was a little too basic. I assumed that I had to follow the exact same approach I used for the existing army – but after reconsidering that’s really not the case. So I opted to add a little of this & that – plus come up with a new mix of stones & sand.

While I was at it, I spent a bit more time on the base for the Librarian in TDA. HQ models should get some extra treatment.

Ok, just noticed some mold lines that I missed. I hate and love that the camera picks up those little imperfections. Anyways, I've finally collected more bits to finish my six man Grey Hunter pack including some of the old Wulfen models. Since I'm only using second hand parts at the moment this is taking a littile longer than I thought but I'm happy with the results so far.

Vet Sgt. Valour, May Update #2, Overall Update # 2

Progress -

I have finished my Landspeeder, and am quite pleased with the way it came out. Especially happy with the Stylized 1 on the gunners shoulder pad which I did freehand.

The Dreadnaught has been magentized and cleaned, and the base got a little extra greenstuff. He is ready for the primer, and will be the next to go. I may use the airbrush for the basecoat.

Company Commander has been selected. I hate the tall feathered helmet, so decided to go with this simple hooded version. He is cleaned up and has to be primed.

No progress on the five Deathwing Terminators at this point.

May Update #1, Update #1 Overall

Hey guys, here's my progress so far on my redeemer, and the shot of the other models I'm painting over the course of the call. I decided to add in my assault terminators to my original pledge, as I really need motivation to finish them, bringing my total "item" count to 5. Let me know what you think, or any suggestions for getting a cleaner finish on the blood red on the tank- the broad open spaces are VERY prone to brush strokes and uneven coverage as I am finding out. Also, sorry for the camera quality; pics taken in a hurry (it is mother's day after all!)

Sheesh, the good stuff just keep rolling in here doesn't it?! :D

 

Pdogg: Love the orange! Really nice color going on. Mabe using a lot of water in the paint for the red? That's the tough part about tanks, not getting the brush strokes in along with it...

 

The Sanguinor: That apothecary came out VERY nice! The white looks ace. I hate getting large areas of white pure. It can be done but it's a PIMA...

The best things with BA now is that there are sweet dante and tycho conversions popping up all over the place ;) Never was a fan of the GW version...

Love the dread as well!

ShinyRhino's CoI4 Update #1

Due to some last-minute work on several minis I need painted for the Boston Brawl this weekend, I've been slacking on my CoI entries. I've pledged a Master of the Forge with Beamer, an Ironclad Dread, and a Venerable Dread.
The Master looks like this:

His WIP pics were featured in my blog. The Ironclad is still in the box, and the VenDread has been clipped from the sprues. Progress will come much faster once the Brawl is over, and life goes back to normal for me. I love a good tuorney for boosting my paitning output, but hate it for the stress of getting things done by a deadline!

Hey guys, just some quick pics today. I need to get my light box out again and take some photos of the BA stuff I have been painting. Here for now is 5 Tactical Marines I just finished putting together. Paint on them to come soon. Hopefully I'll have the first 5 of my custom DC done by the next update.

MAY - UPDATE 3

Just a quick update today...

The vanguard veterans so far have had a chaos black basecoat, with two/three layers of watered down Vallejo Sick Green, washed over with two layers of Citadel Thraka Green wash.

The dreadnought is coming along - gap filling and joint strengthening seems to be taking up the most of my time on the dread at the moment, though I'll be polishing off the eagle and adding a metal edging to it kind of like what's on the old metal venerable dread model. After that it will be the chainblade and the arm holding it getting most of the attention, before the dread is ready to be based and painted.

The Terminators will be my target for tonight, as they are almost ready to be painted - I just need to work on their bases and add a couple of tiny bits to a couple of the models they'll be good to go.

Expect a further update (with photos) tonight.

As I am having camera issues, I'm just going to write out my update.

I've got most of the models planned out and off the sprue. The legs and torso's have all been glued together and every mold line has been taken care of along with drill holes to begin the priming and painting stages. My citadel spray gun has still not come in so issues are arising there. Next time I'll have photos up of some assembly etc if my camera stops being a tool with closeups.

The Landspeeder needs still the drivers, detailing all over the body and weapons. They have been magnetized and wait for paint. And after that the base will be painted.

Viperion's Worst Update Ever

So the Call has got off to a horrible start - I don't even have any pics. But I guess I have to update to stay in :)

 

I have stripped the captain back to bare metal, and the Terminators (who were a lovely shade of the wrong colour) are still sitting in Simple Green waiting to be stripped. And that's all I've managed to do over the last two weeks :)

 

I'm still here! Gotta get my a** into gear soon...

All I've managed this week so far is to highlight the green on a few of the vanguard, as I was distracted by assembling and base coating a land raider redeemer for a game I had tonight.

 

On a plus note, though my planned opponent was waylaid and I ended up taking on Deathwing with an anti-horde list, I did manage to get two games in against the deathwing player and win one of them. The first game was so close but the game ended with 3 terminators left on the board, and nothing of mine. The second game ended with a single terminator left for the deathwing and half my army left, so that was pretty cool. Awesome games both!
