qwerty1.0
Wow, first post! But I doubt any would show up here, as the common forums my countrymen go are as follows... MWPH Neutral Ground Philippines Dakka Dakka I've been through all, and B&C beats all of the above! Espada Azul
We're a VERY small group, remember? Also there's really only three real places to play 40k (or any tabletop game for that matter): at Robinsons Galleria, at Alabang Towncenter, and (sometimes) at Glorietta. qwerty1.0
Amen, and as I heard, 40k players are diminishing quite fast these days... Lack of money and a bad economy affects the gamers. Thats why going to other countries and playing with other gamers make the game more interesting. Singapore's Paradigm Infinitum is a great shop, and also in Florida, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. You don't get stagnant, run-of-the-mill players that get stuck on one particular chapter or combat strategy. <_< Edited May 14, 2010 by qwerty1.0 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201283-philippines/#findComment-2399486 Share on other sites
Espada Azul
Well, here at home we're pretty much stuck with one army (unless you happen to be on an Executive Officer's salary) due to the cost. It's one of the reasons why I only play Marines, instead of having an 'alternate' army like Eldar or Tau. qwerty1.0
I agree again, somehow, I don't feel like collecting an army. Instead, what I do now is collecting custom made space marines. Bought an emperor mini from Germany, its cool, but not the price! $115 a pop, and I bought two of them in a different pose for each. And I also planning to have a commission work from a famous artist. Kwago
Hi There fellow Pinoys, I remember discovering 40k in Robinsons before in the early 2000's, it was pretty cool seeing all these miniatures on a table. I was a fan but never got into the hobby until a few years back when I came across a hobby store nearby where I'm at now. I'm now overseas and rediscovering WH40K again =) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201283-philippines/#findComment-2480366 Share on other sites

Also there's really only three real places to play 40k (or any tabletop game for that matter): at Robinsons Galleria, at Alabang Towncenter, and (sometimes) at Glorietta. I've tried playing at Alabang Town Center and it's really crowded! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201283-philippines/#findComment-2863646 Share on other sites
Thirdfox
How's it going, fellow Pinoys. I would just want to ask if you guys know of other hobby shops that might carry WH40k stuff. Aside from Neutral Grounds and Fortress Hobbies in Greenhills, i have no idea where else to get stuff. drkwalker
I haven't even played since just before 5th edition. Mostly just convert and paint models. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201283-philippines/#findComment-3302759 Share on other sites
xedoc
Hi, is this thread still open? My brother and I just started W40K with the Dark Vengeance Box. I work in singapore and he's in the philippines. Would you know a good place to go and play for beginners? He passed by NG Glorietta; thats where he picked up the idea to play. But kinda got turned off by the crowd; he said, most actually discouraged him from playing because its an expensive hobby. MordentHex
It was expensive for me when i started too. I was 14. cutting grass and doing chores just doesn't pay that much when you want 40k. If he knows a place to play then just have him gradually buy things over time. Its a better strategy than buying in a lump sum and then finding out he doesn't really like it, or can never get a chance to play. Thirdfox
He probably went on the wrong day and talked to the wrong people. If he went on weekdays, the crowd there is mostly Magic:The Gathering players and they generally look on 40k as a very expensive hobby. If it's NG Glorietta, best days to go would be on Saturdays or Sunday mornings as that's when the 40k people show up. xedoc
if youre in Manila, try to check out Neutral Grounds Glorietta 2 - usually on saturdays. Also, you can go to Neutral Grounds Centris Walk (near Quezon Avenue MRT), they usually have a lot more players there.
