Captain Lucian leads a mission to deny chaos forces the planet of Itaria. During the decisive battle, Lucian faces and kills the chaos leader, a powerful rogue psyker. the psyker lashes out w/ a psychic attack that sends Lucian and his entire honor guard into the grips of the Red Thirst, and into a short madness almost as dangerous as the Black Rage. Lucian gets away from the battlefield, and goes into hiding as his madness comes and goes he's forced to sate his thirst since his will power is broken, but in his times of lucidity, and sanity, he is over taken by the memories of the things he has done to satisfy his thirst.

 

The company's first sergeant Sergeant Alfonzo dedicates the task force's detachment of Sanguinary Guard to tracking down and killing Lucian.
