Word Bearers Super-Heavy Church

This is a wonderful piece. Voice of the Gods indeed. As for rules I think that you could start with cannibalizing some of the rules from the Plaguetower and build from there. Perhaps giving it the Chaos alter abilities, for obvious reasons, as well as utilizing the warp rift. It is just fitting to think of all those daemons pouring out of these monster after the Bearers of the Word have spoken.

Reading battle for the Abyss right now and this is just fantastic, I realize it is not a ship but you see what I mean, I hope anyway.

Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks! It's a really good idea with the warp rift! I was thinking to have a baneblade variant as a rules foundation, because you can do a lot of things with it. For example a Doomhammer would create transport capacity, and making it command tank would make it into a large Icon of Chaos Glory. This would make it easy to calculate points costs.

But when people like you, and others here comes up with these genious ideas on great special rules, :P I always wonder what would be a fair price for the specific upgrade or rule. What would you for example think the "warp rift" would be worth? I appreciate all help!

Looks awesome man.

The first that popped in my head when I saw it though:

Marine Sergeant: It's turning into our lane! Well, you better go put it out of it's misery.

Marine: Where's this missile then?

Marine Sergeant: It's in the bunker. Push the button marked 'church.'

Marine: How do I aim it, Brother Sergeant?

Marine Sergeant: It automatically homes in on the nearest place of worship.

Marine: But that's the Church of the Emperor's Forgiveness!

The Marine Sergeant looks over his shoulder at the Chaos Temple as it grinds closer on it's giant tracks.

Marine Sergeant: Not anymore.

Awesome! You actually finished it! Good job! A really awesome idea and a great convertion! But is it a convertable? Does the top come off?

Haha, actually it almost has fewer magnets than a terminator! I can remove the tower (to allow for transport), but the roof stays on. I can take away the magma cannon and the havoc launchers if they are destroyed during game, or replace the magma cannon to any other baneblade variant main cannon. Two of the chaos crosses are magnetized too, so I can turn them and secretly keep track of any structure point losses. The standard bearer can be taken off and he has a base of his own when he wants to park the vehicle and go somewhere else. The books on the front are removable as well. Other than that, I don't remember having put any other magnets on. But you never know ;)

*lol* But then your terminators have an unhealthy amount of rare earth magnets in 'em. ;) Awesome job though, and congrats on all the positive comments you've recived. You certainly deserve them (as I've said for years)! Some one suggested submitting it to GW for possible publication in WD, and I heartily agree! I'm sure they would love to feature it!

Keep up the good work mate, and I hope to one day face that blasphemous monstrosity on the field of battle and utterly destroy it! :P

BAM!!! i'Ve seen some great conversions here on B&C so far, but this beats them all!

fantastic conversion with fantastic details.

i love the way the light falls through the "eight pointed" window.

and about the white dwarf feature someone mentioned, i bet they would jump in front of a charging baneblade, to get a chance to feature it!

Ok 1 that is awesome and 2 that is awesome and 3 what exactly did u use for the conversion (if u can remember) and 4 is that a forgeworld shadowsword cannon :D

Thanks! I used a million things for this build, some things I know where they come from, some things have been staying in my bits box for too long and lost their identity. The cannon is from the plastic baneblade/shadowsword/etc kit. It is supposed to look like the magma cannon of the Doomhammer. If it's any other specific parts you want to know, feel free to ask.

"THOU SHALT NOT KILL, REMEMBER?!! What kind of church man are you anyway?!"

Seriously, love it.

Thanks!

I've read the whole bible, and I can honestly say that the following quote is more representative:

"In that day those the LORD has slaughtered will fill the earth from one end to the other. No one will mourn for them or gather up their bodies to bury them. They will be scattered on the ground like manure."

- Jeremiah 25:33

Real religion is a constant inspiration for my work...

Ah well, we religious people do have trouble explaining that sort of thing.

Nice Church, incidentally. I can just imagine...

"Alright, Marines! Let us take cover in that chapel!"

"Yes sergeant! Wait! What?"

Church: "Die, servants of the False Emperor!" Boom, fires cannon.

Not very funny, it seemed better in my head.
