Dark Apostle Thirst
So do we just choose a fellow frater's chapter to start doing, or are we assigned them to make sure no one gets left out, or what? Ah yeah, should of made it more clear. When everyone has signed up, everyones chapter is put into a hat, and we draw one out for each member. So you'll be assigned one :) Hey, I'm just worried about my poor Wraiths... perhaps they'll end up being popular after all, Ydalir. :) I'll appreciate another color scheme to try out though :) I'll even do some fluff for their involvement in the campaign fluff I'm writing for my hodge-podge marine army. captain_shrike
I wouldn't worry too much about having a load of different chapter symbols. Add in something in like join now, and then closing date in small at the bottom. Brother Cambrius
Who knows, maybe this year someone will actually do my chapter and not fall off the radar... Hey! I object to such accusations! Also, I might submit a chapter. However, they are more planned than real, as I only have a few Marines painted up for them. Is this still okay? I do apologise profusely KhorneHunter57! ;) To the pain glove for me...*walks away in shame* Cambrius Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209863-the-diy-swapping-project-2010/page/2/#findComment-2505545 Share on other sites
KhorneHunter57x
It's cool. I could never be truly mad at someone with whom I share a birthday. He stands guard over my Chapter Forges (work area), ensuring that none of my Tau intrude while I am away. :D On topic, is there an answer to my earlier question about submitting a Chapter that I have very few Marines of? Brother Cambrius
I'm sure any chapter will do KH57, so long as they have a colour scheme and such it should be perfectly fine. :P Same birthday eh? The crusades for cake on both sides of the Atlantic must devastate our local areas on that date. :D Glad to hear the termie's doing his little bit for the Emperor! Dark Apostle Thirst
If you are interested in the Wraiths banner, one of the things I made sure about was that it was open to interpretation. It's even stated in their IT that the different Summonings have different symbols, and the only thing unifying the symbols is that they are all a blade with a jagged edge. Thus you can do a twisted Asian style sword, something like a military issue dagger, a simple sword that is only slightly jagged, etc, etc, etc. It really is collector friendly :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209863-the-diy-swapping-project-2010/page/2/#findComment-2505584 Share on other sites

captain_shrike
On topic, is there an answer to my earlier question about submitting a Chapter that I have very few Marines of? Its fine if you have a colour scheme and some kind of background to them. KhorneHunter57x
Its fine if you have a colour scheme and some kind of background to them. Yes, I do. Chapter Name: Purifiers. Chapter Symbol: None, as they trust Him-on-Terra to know by their actions that they are His warriors, the Purifiers. Also, they do not wear the standard Codex Squad markings, as they do not use standard Company or Squad organisation. They do however make extensive use of the Aquila so as to identify them as loyalists, both reassuring the Emperor's warriors, and warning His foes of the fate that awaits them. However, once a Brother-Marine has removed 500 of the Emperor's foes from His sight (250 kills with ranged weapons and 250 in melee), he will be known as a "Blessed Purifier," and will earn the right to wear a silver sword painted vertically with the tip facing down on the front of each of his greaves, as well as the right to select his own wargear from the Chapter's Armory, instead of the standard Bolter and Bolt Pistol. Vanguard, Sternguard, and Bike squads are made up entirely of Blessed, and Heavy and Special weapon wielders have also 'earned their blades.' The Purifiers do not have any suits of Tactical Dreadnought Armor, and their precious few suits of Artificer Armor are reserved for the Chapter Master and his Honor Guard. Honor Guard have hoodless blue robes, and act as a combination Captain, Chaplain, and Honor Guard on the field of battle. Chapter Colors: Each Purifier wears gold, as it reminds them that they serve only the occupant of the Throne. They always use blue as a trim color, as it represents His thirteenth son, Roboute Guilliman, and the Ultramarines, their Primogenitors. Preferred weapons: For those that have 'earned their blades,' the preferred weapons are Flame weapons, Power Swords, and Meltabombs. Image: Gold: Shining Gold; Blue: Ultramarine Blue; Silver: Boltgun Metal. The eyes can vary. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me. StrangeGuy
I'm not a very good painter, but I'm in if you guys will have me. GW Colours: Gold = Burnished Gold, Blue = Enchanted Blue, Silver = Chainmail Chapter Name: Knights of the Silver Fist Chapter Symbol: Same as Imperial Fists only Silver Markings: Chapter Symbol on Marine's Left Pad with Gold Trim, Company is indicated by the colour of the trim on the Marine's Right shoulder pad (so in this image, it's a member of the 1st Co.), Squad markings go on the left knee and are usually simple, for example a fully red knee pad or quartered design etc. History: The Knights are an Imperial Fist successor. In m39 a handful of First Company Veterans turned to Chaos and murdered some other veterans and the Chapter Master during a long and arduous campaign. The result of this was the entire first company was shamed, and the rest of the chapter looked down upon them so much that marines began refusing promotion to the first company. Eventually the remaining 1st Co. Vets died in battle and for nearly 2000 years the 1st Co. didn't exist. Recently, a gifted young marine (and distant relative of one of the loyal 1st Co. Marines who tried to defend the Chapter Master against the traitors) has risen through the ranks and petitioned the Chapter Master for the honour of restoring the 1st Company. He has been given permission to rebuild it, but unlike the other 9 companies he is unable to recruit new warriors, only those who wish to join the 1st Company voluntarily are allowed entry. The Knights companies function slightly differently to regular marine companies. Each one is self sufficient, seeing to its own recruitment and equipment, with the exception of the 1st Company. They consist of 4 Tactical Squads, 2 Assault Squads, 2 Devastator Squads, 1 Scout Squad, and 1 Veteran Squad. Veterans take to the field as Sternguard/Vanguard or in Terminator Armour (both Assault weapons and regular weapons.) Other: The Knights look is fairly simple, Sergeants tend to wear tabards or loin cloths etc. Company Colours are standard codex. Scouts are not permitted to wear company colours. ....so yeah let me know if you guys need anymore info or whatever. recon0321
i am game.... Knights of Tartosa Knights of Tartosa are a chapter of the Adeptus Astartes created during the 3rd founding by the High Lords of Terra they have crusaded to bring the Emperors light to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Origins Having been created from the Gene-Seed of Rogal Dorn, the chapter had a hefty reputation to uphold. They were created from a vanguard of veterans from a group of Imperial Fists. Some say chosen others say banished because of radical thinking but regardless they were led by a Veteran Sgt. Know simply as Bernarde . Little is know about the Veteran Sgt. other than when he was tasked with the creation of the new chapter. he immediately obeyed and knew the emperor would guide his hand is all things. He was given: 1 command squad including chaplain librarian apothecary champion and standard bearer 2 ten man tactical squads 1 assault squad 1 devastator squad 1 ten man scout sniper squad with Veteran Sgt. Crixus He was also given a barely space worthy battle barge “Ark of the Imperium” He was also given a letter embossed with the gene siglet of the High Lords of Terra with authorization to proceed to the Forge world of Accatran. With authorization to equip himself with everything he deems necessary to pursue his holy crusade in the name of the emperor and the machine god. Upon arrival on the surface of Accatran, Bernarde was given a whole battle company’s worth of supplies including various Mks of armor and weapons. Including precious few suits of tactical dreadnought armor. 1 dreadnought Sarcophagus as well as variations of the Rhino STC platform. The adepts of Accatran also repaired the Ark as it had know become known and trained a 2 of Bernarde’s marines as Techmarines. During prayer one night the chaplain came to Bernarde and said the primarch had spoke to him in a dream and said they should be called the Knights of Tartosa and take up the Templar cross icon of their gene brothers and start a new crusade near the Dominion of Storms which is known for its high activity of Ork populace. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/smsbeta...amp;lkg3=A82014 the chapter the symbol is a Templar cross...the salamander icon was just their for visual reference Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209863-the-diy-swapping-project-2010/page/2/#findComment-2506019 Share on other sites

Brother Xeones
Room for one more? JADE DRAGONS I'll get a few pictures for color reference up soon... [EDIT: see image and links below] Chapter Background: Earliest Known Records: The history of the Jade Dragons remains shrouded in mystery to all but the most privileged of the Inquisition. The few scant references still available date back to approximately four hundred years after the Horus Heresy. These chronicle the chapter’s full mobilization and departure on a great crusade –though the texts contradict one another on the destination of such a crusade. Though the manuscripts do not implicitly state the reason for such a crusade, it is theorized by many that it was undertaken as an act of penance to the Emperor to atone for some unspeakable act on the part of the chapter. According to the most reliable texts, while en route, the entire chapter was lost in a sudden and terrible warp storm that swallowed up the chapter’s entire flotilla of battlebarges as well as the majority of vessels from the attending Imperial Naval fleet. When the storm subsided several weeks later, not a single Jade Dragon remained. Many declared the storm to be an act of the Emperor’s judgment on the chapter. Still others proclaimed that the chapter was taken willingly by the warp, thus proving their traitorous nature beyond question. Following their disappearance, most records of the chapter where either destroyed by the Odro Mallius or have been locked away in some unknown vault within the great libraries of Terra making further inquiries into the chapter’s past all but impossible. Recent History: A small Imperial naval blockade in the Ultima Segmentum was attacked by a large Chaos Corsair fleet. Isolated, out-gunned, and outnumbered, the blockade’s situation looked bleak when the hulking forms of three ancient battlebarges where spewed from the warp directly between the embattled fleets. Despite their phantasmal appearance, the ghost ships immediately opened fire on the corsair fleet and launched a multitude of assault boats and Thunderhawks. Such was the fury of the onslaught that within minutes, the chaos fleet was in disarray. Those vessels capable of fleeing the system had already retreated, and the smoldering wreckage of the remainder floated lifeless in the void. Following the battle, the three ghost ships, disappeared once more into the warp without answering the hails of the grateful imperial ships. In the years following this initial encounter, similar sightings have been reported with increasing regularity –though the number of ghost ships appears to vary from encounter to encounter. Most incidents have been space-borne, but a few surface encounters have also been made. Most accounts tell of towering forms in ancient and worn power armor bearing the livery of a green dragon. These apparitions have appeared without warning to vanquish the emperor’s foes only to vanish without a word. The Ordo Malleus has remained openly skeptical of such reports, but nevertheless has taken an unusual interest in investigating such occurrences when they appear. Units and Composition: According to the ancient texts, the Jade Dragons appear to have been a chapter that specialized in space-borne combat and boarding actions, excelling in close-range firefights within the cramped quarters of ship corridors. This information would seem to be substantiated by most of the recent reports which state that these ghostly apparitions seem to favor short-range heat-based weapons and rapid insertions via drop pods, stormravens, and thunderhawks. Rumors: Beyond information above, little more can be said for certain about these strange warriors (including their present location or numerical strength, as such information seems to vary widely with each individual incursion). A few of the more outlandish rumors tell of a somber host of phantasms wreathed in warpfire who incinerate all before them and turn the very fury and power of the warp against their foes before vanishing back into the smoke which spawned them. Such tales are viewed with more than a little skepticism by most. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the growing number of eyewitness reports. Even the Inquisition itself has found it difficult to silence wagging heretical tongues which proclaim that the Emperor’s incarnate wrath has appeared from the very bowels of the warp itself to enact His will. Such open blasphemy has earned a traitor’s death for more than a few apostates.
