The Normish
I just had an idea! In the case of an uneven number when assigning the Chapters, we can always have someone do the Angry Marines! ALWAYS ANGRY, ALL THE TIME! It would be a fun conversion project. Honda
I am considering, especially because of my pathetic appearance last year. <hangs head> DIY Swapping Project Record: 3-1 :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209863-the-diy-swapping-project-2010/page/5/#findComment-2517623 Share on other sites
WingsOfTheFalcon
Hi guys, I'd really like to be involved. I did an IA on my DIY chapter the Falcon Guard a while back and sadly the chapter is now 'on hold', I'd really like to see someone take a shot at them as it might give me my motivation back to finish them! Basically they are an airborne assault specialist Blood Angels successor chapter, lots of jump packs and speeders. Colours as below: http://b.imagehost.org/t/0143/004.jpg Basecoat - Orkhide Shade Armour - Snot Green for plates, Dark Angels Green for soft armour, rims and knees. Just one question though, can I get a bye on any Chaos Warbands if I draw them? I've only got loyalist bits to build from. Solid Zaku
One more week, gents. Now, is creating the WIP and HoH threads on our heads individually as participants, or is there going to be a Swapping Project WIP/HoH masterthread? The Normish
A joint thread has the benefit of regular bumps.. And ease of access. No-one wants to have to look at twenty seven different threads to see how everyone is doing. Heru
I'd join but I don't have access to any models at the moment (I'm on holiday in LA), and I didn't particularly enjoy the results of the 09/10 one Ferrus hosted. AngryJohnny
I think a combined thread in the WIP forum and a combined thread in the HoH forum would be most practical - it would be easier to find, everyone would know were to look for progress & it would keep from cluttering the board. Slyen
Er... for all those who think that just because you don't have any chaos bits that you can't do Chaos I'd have to say you are wrong. Just because he is a traitor does not mean he immediately shoves aside his power armor for that of an older generation's, nor does he immediately and magically get spiky bits and goo all over him. Younger space marines who turn only bring newer models of power armor to the ranks of Chaos, its not like the Astral Claws immediately ditched everything thing they had when the Badab War ended, they took it with them. So technically yes, you could do Chaos... you just have to get creative with Marine parts... and maybe a little green stuff should you have access to it. WingsOfTheFalcon
True, but if the fluff for that Warband isn't 'we're newly converted' then you'd need at least some Chaos parts to get the job done well. Especially if you didn't know your way around GS. Especially if you didn't know your way around GS. Not necessarily. In the Chaos Codex there is a story about the Red Corsairs attacking a Space Wolves strike cruiser. Those that survived joined the war band, doubt they immediately painted their armor red or did a trade in of any sorts. Maybe they rubbed blood all over it, but that's not the same as paint :D. Yeah, in fact new power armour is especially prized. Read the Chaos Codex two pages on Bikers, Havocs, and Chaos Marines, there should be a sidebar detailing how Chaos feels about power armour. Soul Hunter also provides some good insights on the need for new armour, should you read it. Hyaenidae
Alright, I'm in. Not sure which of my DIY to go with though. Technically, they are the same Chapter, just one pre-excomm, one post-excomm. The Medusan Knights - Before Excommunication Symbol is the iron gauntlet of the Iron Hands, with 2 crossed swords behind. Lots of Bionic Parts. Tabard marked with AdMech symbols and holy binary. After Excom, re-named The Ironbound. Symbol is the iron gauntlet of the Iron Hands, superimposed over a star of chaos. Same with the bionic parts, just daemonic, plus patchwork sewn together skin. Tabards marked with Dark Mech Symbols and scrap-code. The Medusan Knights chapter, founded in M33 from the Iron Hands gene-seed, was created to fill gaps in the defences around the Eye of Terror's northern sectors. Founded on knightly principles, the Medusan Knights were wholly devouted to protecting the weak, much like their brothers of the Salamanders, and strip their flesh and replace it with bionics to better defend humanity. They continued to serve the Imperium with honour for 6,000 years, until their forge-monestary was struck by the Dark Mechanicus and 4 full Traitor Titan Legions. Practically annihlated, the survivors were subject to experimintation and torture as their homeworld was enslaved and turned into a new Daemon-Forge. Their bionics were stripped and rebuilt with foul sorceries, their flesh torn and remolded, thier minds shredded of all sanity by constant forcible scrap-code inloads that polluted their souls. Neither the Emperor nor the Machine God heard their screams, or pleas for mercy. Every one of their weaknessess were brought to the fore, and the Knights could no longer hide their fears behind the mechanical modifications wreathing their bodies. One by one, the Medusan Knights broke their oaths to the Imperium in fits of madness and self-loathing, and swore themselves to the Dark Gods in an effort to permanently purge the faults inheirent within themselves. Waiting for the right time, when the Titan Legions had gone to fight elsewhere, the Knights broke free, and using their new modifications and loyalties to the Gods, they counter-corrupted the scrapcode pouring across the planet, subsuming the skitarii mortals to their will. Using the skitarii, the bloody, broken remains of the Medusan Knights stormed their own walls, and shattered the leaders of the Dark Mechanicus who sat within their corrupted former fortress monestary, crucifying their broken bodies to the highest peaks of the fortress walls. Clinically insane, and Ironbound to their oaths to the Dark Gods to "forcibly purge the failures of the human flesh and soul", they took the world for their own again, and began their war against the weakness that is mankind. They experiment with anything and everything they can get their hands on, from weapons from the Dark Age of Technology, to the melding of flesh, steel, and the warp. On the battlefield, their defeated foes will be dragged back to the Ironbound's waiting transports, which have all been converted into moving labratories/torture chambers, and torn apart for all usable parts, both flesh and bionic. They now strike out at the Imperium, searching for new technology to exploit, selling the tech they don't want to procure other warbands to further the Ironbound's goals, and leaving millions of tortured, insane human experiments in their wake. They are now also shells of the men they once were, their brilliant noble minds stripped of all sanity. An Ironbound will begin an experiment on a fellow brother with clinical precision, then suddenly smash his own brother's face in, tears pouring from his eyes. A second later he will stop, confused, and walk out of the room, twitching. Sorry for the oversized post, it was an idea I never turned into an IA. Any opinions which one to use? EDIT: Grammerical errors and history additions.
