Infernous Pistols and assaults

Infernous pistols and flame pistols can be fired before assaults, and the rules say that pistolscan be used during assaults. Does that mean an infernous pistol can fire twice, once before the assault, once during the assault? If you know the answer can you please point me to theapropriate page.

No it just means you can get the extra attack for having two one-handed close combat weapons.

Pistols are only counted as CCWs in the assault phase. Doesn't matter if it's a Laspistol or an Infernus Pistol, it has no effect on the S or AP of the attacks.

I like to think that they're pistol-whipping rather than firing point-blank, otherwise the idea of a Laspistol, Plasma Pistol and Infernus Pistol all having the same mechanical effect gets a bit hard to stomach. :devil:

I miss the days of second edition when pistols had effects in close combat beyond just counting as an extra weapon. GW really messed up when they dumbed down the rules to make the game play faster... :devil:

I wish Chainswords actually did something more than just "grant +1A with pistols/CCWs" too :/
