so i got back from a 2day tournament..placing 5th out of 30

i didnt win any big prizes but won a raffle for a box of sanguinary guard

 

i want to use them but not sure for what

i want to try a new list with more of a theme behind it as well

any suggestions?

how do people feel about vanguards...hg?

The only problem with the Sanguinary Guard is the codex. With the exceptions of terminators and SangGuard, and a tech marine, people having artificer armor is very limited. It's a personal thing, but the only bits I would use for kit bashing are the pauldrons, heads, and jump packs and wings. The arms are good for the swords, if you can think of a place for them to be. I do think the extra bits would make an interesting Honour Guard. I also have a friend who used a kitbash for his flying librarian epistolary.

 

I just think the torso and legs are a dead giveaway and don't mesh with other space marine bits.

What point limit do you play at?

Do you have a preference for what you (would) like (or not like) to play in terms of mechanized or on foot?

 

Some common themed BA lists that exists are:

 

"AV13" - Furiosos and Predators (Baal and vanila), Memphiston is a good choice here

"Dread" - Fill out the FOCs with as many Dreads you can, Memphiston is a good choice here

"Bikes" - Bring assault marines and T5-bikes (bike priests, bike-HQ)

"All-jumpers" - Everyone brings jump packs, no vehicles.

"Razorspam" - Lots of Razorbacks and Assault Marines

"Sanguinary Guard" - Dante + scoring Sanguinary Guards backed up by ML Devastators

 

I guess there are lots more themes if you care to look, but this should get you started.

im might want to try out an elite"ish" army theme, inducting gks etc

i want to stay away from DoA lists

i like tanks but i also like full 10man squads

i want to use more heavy hitting cc oriented units as well
