Tales of Heresy artwork

There was a quote from someone (I'm not sure, it may have been James Swallow) over on the BL forums a while ago that it was meant to be Angron. That, and the strong focal point for the picture is the character in the centre. But, like you say, its not how you really imagine him.

Its not a good picture, looks like a toddler having a tantrum or dying for a poo.. but aside from that it is pretty close to John Blanch's concept sketch for Angron:

and that was the first mistake, following any of blanch's artwork.

I thought they weren't even bothering with that line of art for the depictions of the Primarchs. Even the physical descriptions of Angron in the books don't match that concept art. Madness, I say!

That is most defintly Angron cause if you the find the full artwork you can see a marine with the bunny ears and the world eaters started those guys right?

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wbBXVjVA4qw/Si0E...H_ToH_Final.jpg i do agree that it is a rather bad portrail of Angron. is there a picture of him with his chain axes, cause i have always wanted to see those

The dispute isn't whether or not it's the World Eaters. . .we know it's the World Eaters. I merely dispute the centerpiece guy standing on the Marine helmet as being Angron, when his physical description only matches that picture by virtue of both having two arms, two legs, and a head. ^_^

This has nothing to do with John Blanche's artwork. Wayne England made an image based on the same sketch that was freaking awesome.

Blanches finished artwork is very good, its only his concept sketches that are spindly and rubbish - unfortunately since he's the head of the art department he doesn't have anyone to tell him "FINISH IT! OR ELSE!" so most of the time he just half finishes it and calls it a day.

That cant be the siege at the Palace of Terra. Angron is standing on a green marine helmet. As far as I know the Salamanders were not at that battle.

Perhaps istvaan then? however i dont recall the mention of any buildings at the dropsite massacre. barren wasteland with lots of dead marines

There are a large number of inaccuracies to be found in the artwork of the HH book series, an incorrectly coloured helmet would be small fry compared to some of them.

Sure I know its insignificant to others. I think personally that it is fun picking out all the differences between the art and the Horus Heresy books which go against some of the original fluff to the game universe. It will be even funnier if they end the series with a Lord of Change telling the reader that the combined stories are one interpretation of the Horus Heresy.
