VV with Storm Shields

Hey guys,

 

There's been a lot of threads on the use of VV but I haven't seen a discussion on the modeling side so far.

 

How do you model your VV storm shield guys? Do you buy Terminators for extra bits? Do you improvise or create your own shields?

 

I'd be very interested in seeing your takes on that option.

I took the wings from thes sang guard kit and glued it a combat shield.

 

Someone here did it to great effect.

 

I will post it sometime if I can.

Just plain old combat shields (from ASM box) for me. Though when I get enough I may use the combat shield from the Dark Angels veterans box.

Has anyone tried using the Terminator storm shields? Do they look too big on regular PA models?

 

I've seen the Scibor ones before but I don't like his style. The quality is fine, I'm just not into his aesthetics.

This is what I do and as pointed out it is a storm shield as opposed to the Combat Shield which comes in the Command Squad box and has a pistol attached.

Black Orange, Honour Guard is my favourite of all our units and that is one wicked looking HG (and a bit 'hulk smash'!) I like it :)

 

As for the storm shields, termie ones look great with minimum chopping me thinks

Yeah, that HG does look cool! The Termi shield look to be working really well, I think I'll settle for those.

I was going to use shields from ASM box. I have considered termie shields though, but as I'm not sure if I use termies, I find it as a pretty expensive investment :)

Dammit! The Scibor 'Wings' Shields are pretty new - when I was considering this same issue a couple of months back, I agonised over whether to go for his shields, and these wings shields weren't available yet. I may have gone for those if they were. I may still... ;) Maybe a bit 'Dark Angel-y' though, winged sword and all.

 

I have made my own though as shown below if you fancy a look. Magnetized for maximum flexibility. :)

If someone is doing Night Lords with C:BA or other bat themed DIY Chapters, I suggest looking at the Vampire Counts' shields
