weapon conversion for chapter master

Recommended Posts

Hey there B&C, for my iron snakes chapter, i have an idea to create the Chapter Master, Seydon, and have run into a small problem with the weapon of choice. Since they are such a "sea-faring" chapter of marines, i thought it fitting to have him wield a trident, which could count as just about any sort of powered weapon i want

I am trying to do this for pretty cheap, so any helpful advice, to possible bit combinations would help greatly. I have bits boxes for marines, nids, IG, WHFB DE, and Ogre Kingdoms, including a fantasy Giant box.

There are a lot of the old style DE Wyches on eBay atm, some of which have tridents.

I made a different type of spear for my IS Chapter Master with a Marauder Spear and Tomb Guard Blade:

small update.. began work on the trident, and my original bit ideas proved ineffective, so on plan C, i have what i think is a nicely proportioned trident (the shaft may need some more trimming, depending on the overall height i may think looks good)

I like the looks of that trident so far, looks cool. However I agree with WingsOfTheFalcon, the side blades need to be bigger. as for an idea for them, would it be feasable to use a pair of knives from the marines or scouts (unsure what bax they come in), or possibly the knifes/bayonets from the Ogryn?

What bit did you use for the forearm?

the arm bit is from the Sanguinary guard box, its the single handed axe (well, its the arm holding an axe in one hand)

this is close to how he is sitting now, i have added the gold to the trident head, and skull base, and have actually glued that shield arm on.

the shield is actually a shield from a fantasy dwarf. I had bought a few dwarven shields, with the intent of making all 80+ of my Iron Snakes have a spear, shield and bolter.. however, money being the biggest reason, the army just didnt hash out that way, so i have some shields... i just carefully carved off the dwarf symbols from the center (i didnt file, because knowing my luck i would have messed up the design on the edge of it)

this model is looking sweet!

i like the use of the dwarf shield, it makes him look like he's a less static fighter than you'd expect...

wasn't Seydon in Teminator armour though? (most likely i'm wrong)

Wingsofthefalcon - where did your shield come from thats awesome

I got mine from Maxmini, but they are quite big so I actually prefer the Dwarvern shields.

I'm still pondering how best to use the ten I ordered, I think a TH/SS termi squad is the only way to go with shields that enormous!

What pack are you going to use for this mini?

thanks for the quick response, i think i'll have to get a pack of them... i love the middle one (lion head)

gonna use them on terminators -

power weapon and storm shield (count as wolf guard)

and a couple of characters i wanna have shields -

they do look big but thats half the draw isn't it, they'll stand out....

IIRC, in the Iron Snakes book, he isnt really in any recognizable armor, in that according to what Priad saw, he was more bionics (including oxygen tanks) than he was marine.. so this could very well be a "young" seydon.

the other thing to consider is he is a chapter master - he'd have his pick of the gear

it'd be like ken in Toy Story 3 - "it has a room, just for armour and weapons"
