Certs
Thanks I was worried about that, and didn't know if it was true or not. Thanks, I wonder if I should make all my Dark Angel Marines Robed, only 20 or just the Sargent and Vets? what do you guys think? for my battle company, I went with about half robes: the command squad, 5 in each tactical squad and devastator squad, though none in the assault squads. mainly, all the sergeants, special/heavy weapons, and 2-3 tactical marines per tactical squad...since all the non-robed marines have just boltguns, they usually chosen as wound-takers and removed from the table first anyways during games... so in a way, wearing a robe is almost a measure of extra survivability in my army. also, the half-robed squads look pretty good in a group and helps to add variance to the otherwise monochromatic color scheme. it's just preference on how you want your army to look, as personally i think full-robed would have been too much for me, and would have detracted more on the 'value' of having a robe. you also need to remember that you'll need the assortment of special/heavy weapons, jump pack bits, and the costs of bits orders to get them as well. i ended up getting 2 boxes of devastators for the heavy weapons, and 2 SM battleforces for the assault marines, rhinos, and special/heavy weapon/sgt sprues (plus i like scouts); so I had to do something with all those regular marine body parts that came in them anyways. 10 from the devastators, and 30 from the battleforces worked perfectly on the regular boltgun marines needed to fill out half the squad numbers, plus 10 assault marines... but after some thought, i decided robes and jumppacks probably don't mix and so just picked up 2 more boxes of assault marines to fill out the 2 squads of them. Freman Bloodglaive
My army consists of a mix of robed and normal marines. My bikers are recycled from my Space Wolves, so they're a wild looking bunch. I guess the fluff has them down as the most wild and crazy Space Marines in the Chapter. Born to be wild. Four bikes, plus attack bike, to make them troops. Triple melta for the tank killing. Two tacticals with multi-melta/flamer/Rhino. Captain on bike, Master of the Forge on bike. Three squads of terminators, Five devs with four missiles. Two Dreads with multi-meltas. Then fill up fast attack with Land Speeder Typhoons. pueriexdeus
I just got my 2x sprue from GW today at $20.00, + free shipping in the US, here is the link... Get it while you can. I will have to say that after receiving the sprues from GW, I am so happy to notice that there is so much more than you see on the GW website. I'm ordering another one right now, before it's too late to get them at the original price. Even though I really haven't a plan for them just yet.
