winterdyne
Removing the Space Hulk basing is tricky - on the ones I'm doing at the moment, I simply clipped back the base so it'd fit on a standard 40mm round base, and smoothed it in with greenstuff. Then it's just sand / grit before painting, as per usual. Br0ther Rafen
alternitavly, you could just glue them straight on to the 40mm base, and then glue sand, etc, over the base, to keep it nice and simple. winterdyne
When I fitted them, there was a fair amount of overhang. Unless you're planning on having them removable at any point, I'd clip back the base a bit to get a smoother result. Montuhotep
If you're careful about it, then a razor saw will work well - though do be careful, I had one of mine snap off at the ankles! Doghouse
What I did was a little gs slope around the edges of the space hulk bases then just put sand over the top. Tanhausen
When you say stuff for the bases.. what do you have in mind? If you're thinking sand, vegetation and similar, real life is your friend. I have a zillion bits of rock, small branches and similar that I pick up in the most unthinkable places! If you want something more "industrial" or "space hulk" thing, I'd suggest doing your own bases with some steel net (like the ones you use to cover pipes so they don't clog) and small bits of plumbing PVC pieces. Hope it helps! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/218373-ideas-for-basing-terminators/#findComment-2605364 Share on other sites

cathar the great
Both Scibor Miniatures and MicroArt make pretty cool bases. You can also find a lot of great tutorials and inspiration on Massive Voodoo Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/218373-ideas-for-basing-terminators/#findComment-2609453 Share on other sites
