Isiah
The 2011 Librarium Painting Challenge It's the start of a new year and we all know that means it's time for the annual Librarium Painting Challenge (also known as the 'LPC'). Functioning as a chance for board members to make a New Year's Resolution to get some models painted by the end of March, the Librarium Painting Challenge offers both positive and negative motivation. The positive motivation is the promise of a newly minted Vow Complete signature, not to mention the glory and camaraderie of participating, while the negative motivation is the infamous Vow Failed signature and the requirement that you do an article for the Librarium (which is quite simple, really not much of a punishment;) ). So for anyone who received some models (board appropriate ones of course...) this Christmas and is yet to make a serious start on them, this is the perfect challenge for you :)For full rules and information on how to enter, please click here. This is also the thread to pledge your vows. Please don't post your vows here, they won't count!Once again, the Librarium Painting Challenge is also hosting a challenge within a challenge. This is the LPC Subforum Challenge. In this, every subforum is pitted against one another in competition to see who can get the most completed vows. The winning subforum receives the title of LPC Champions (and bragging rights of course ), not to mention a subforum-specific Vow Completed signature. So get on board now and support your subforum! Remember that only completed vows count.. Will anyone be able to unseat the reigning champions, the supremely talented Blood Angels or will the fanged pretty boys (:P) have another year to lord it over the other subforums? You can make a difference! If you want to view the fun, mayhem and camaraderie invested in the Librarium Painting Challenge, check out the previous year's Challenge. Don't miss out on this once in a year chance! So what are you waiting for? Sign your board name here, grab those dusty paints, open those Christmas boxes of space marines and join in! IanSturrock
Awesome sauce! Thanks for the heads-up, Isiah. I've signed up again. Kept it manageable -- 1 old school rhino, 5 scouts, and a (Christmas pressie!) drop pod. I will probably aim to have a bigger batch of rhinos as to least basecoated though. Brother-Captain Sharp
750 points of Angels of Retribution, queued up and ready to go. That's a little ambitious for me, but if I can keep up the same pace I have been, I should be able to get it done. It'll help me complete my personal 40k year resolution as well: 3000 points of painted Angels of Retribution. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/218588-the-2011-librarium-painting-challenge/#findComment-2606792 Share on other sites

Sigismund Himself
The list of the glorious and proud followers of the Lion that have taken up the vow of the LPC is as follows: ODM IanSturrock brennus Brother-Captain Sharp Darkest Angel Lord_Hail LardO'Blood Acaeleus4 kizzap88 Brother Styphus This leaves the Dark Angels in second last place, unfortunately. This is a mere two vows behind the unorganised and ill-disciplined rabble that go by the name of the Black Templars, not to mention 13 behind the Space Wolves... Who will let this travesty stand? All it takes is one model for a vow, brothers! Also, a small number of participation prizes have been added as announced here. These will be given out in the following way: One card to the person with the fanciest/funniest vow (please just leave your name, the subforum you're vowing for and the amount of models clear or in bold if you go for this) One each to three people with the biggest completed vows One each to eight randomly drawn people who have managed to complete their vows One each to the first three people who get a Librarium article in after failing So why haven't you entered yet? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/218588-the-2011-librarium-painting-challenge/#findComment-2623007 Share on other sites
Corton
After some years of hiatus from here, I am back with the first army I ever had, the Dark Angels. I am submitting a 1500 point army for this challenge, so here we go. .....and as a side note, this was BEFORE I knew there were prizes-I thought this was just for bragging rights. Brother Styphus
Fine fine, I'll hop to work already. Instead of dishing out the criticism, it's time to receive some. While it is hard to make out, I believe it is the 4 card that we should all be striving to win. Sigismund Himself
Dont think you couted me Sigismund - that means only 1 behind no? A slip of the finger meant I had you down for Chaos Ascendant, fixed that up. Since my last update here, the following brothers have been brave enough to vow ellis_esquire Grotsmasha Corton Dark Rage Lord Tharand Boonkin DucAvieux pueriexdeus Bartali This surge has seen the Black Templars overtaken and now places you guys a mere 1 vow behind the forces of Chaos, with 19 current vows. More importantly, this has narrowed the gap between the drunken barbarians that go by the name of the Space Wolves and you guys to 5 vows... Are there five descendants of the Lion willing to step up? Gillyfish
Glad I'm not the only person who's pretending to prefer quality of quantity <laughs> Fair point! But I choose the techmarine for a couple of reasons - I want to stretch myself by painting something a bit different - red will certainly do that, particularly if I can get the deep red that I'm after. Secondly, I'm going to try out some new construction and painting techniques on him with intention of painting him as I would a character model. I have a tendency to rush if there's a deadline, so by only doing one marine, I'm hoping that I can devote the necessary time to him. Dark Angel 13
I, Dark Angle 13, son of the Lioon, Captain of the Dark Angles, the Emperor's first Legion, vow on the honour of my Chapter to paint and present at least one Deathwing command squad, one Ravenwing command squad, and Sammael's Land speeder on or before the 31st of March, 2011. I promise to provide at least two WIP updates with pictures, in that time. I vow that if I should fail, I will provide the Librarium with an article and wear the Signature of Shame until my penitence period is done. Also posted in the sign up thread.
