eaglefists13
I'm reading The First Heretic at the moment and without spoiling it. It implies that the deleted Legions were broken up and distributed among the other Legions. I had a quick look at the Ultramarines successors and the Doom Eagles really stood out as Not Very Ultramariney. What do you think? Any other 2nd founding Chapters that stand out? All of creation suffers, young ones. Only in accepting our own mortality can we make a difference. Only in bearing the burden of our failures can we find the strength to go on. Only in detachment from glory, or honour, or jealousy... from life itself can we hope to spare others from grief. We are Doom Eagles. And we are dead already. +++ Librarian Secundus Thryn of the Doom Eagles +++ http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Doom_Eagles for reference thats where the quote is from. Something that should be noted here is that the Legions most related to the Codex laid down by Gulliman are the Imperial Fists and Blood Angels. Mainly because of the Stigma attached to the curse and the almost war which could have happened had not Rogal Dorn relented. Ironically the legions whose strength would have been the greatest at the end of the Heresy? Not many legions around actually follow the codex to the letter so i wouldn't really use this as a guide to work out who may or may not of been assimilated into the Ultras. Even if they did, the most strict regimented and disciplined legion would of rid itself of any disparity between the day to day running of a legion. I do however like the idea but if they were assimilated it wouldnt of been many as whatever befell the Primarch would of lessened the size of the legion and it would of been early? in the crusade so the legion wouldnt of been that big?
