Noctus Cornix
from the looks of it, he started with scorned brown, applying it to all the areas he wanted chipped and then highlighted it with a very light mix of grey and white. Hope that helps. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219325-how-to-paint-chipped-armor/#findComment-2615909 Share on other sites
winterdyne
You can also paint the light blob, then partially overpaint with the dark. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219325-how-to-paint-chipped-armor/#findComment-2615936 Share on other sites
Hemal
Generally I paint armour on light models with chips in charadon granite, and highlight the chip either dramatically to the most pronounced colour for new chips or to a more muted tone for older chips. JayeL
Here is an article where the painter who painted that particular marine is explaining, primarily, how to do the glowing eyes effect but he also touches on the scratched armour effect also: http://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/1288...g-eyes-by-cyril Hope this helps, John Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219325-how-to-paint-chipped-armor/#findComment-2616352 Share on other sites
