Why stop at 8 troops? You can have 12 of them with 2 FOC! That's 28 LRCS.

Then you ally with BA, assault squad troop with LRC, vanguard vets FA with LRC, terminators elites with LRC, command squad HQ with LRC and you're at 18 LRCs under 2000 pts and 32 above 2000 pts. It's a shame BA can't take LRs in heavy support... or GK take a command squad and a LRC for HQ... I guess no codex has access to LR for every slot? (Maybe we'll be the first!)

...you're still trying to figure out how many more points you can add to the E Tenebrae Lux challenge with one month to go. Being in the lead isn't enough. Dominating is barely sufficient.

Total annhiliation seems a moderately workable solution.

When you keep pulling out plastic bags filled with unpainted terminators...and find yourself disappointed that you only have five unpainted troops legal for an assualt unit and twenty unpainted shooty termies. Then make the decision that its okay to paint shooty termies because that will allow you to pledge and paint over 1,000 points.

...you got giddy as soon as you read the words "Power Lance" in the BRB.

...your Google auto-complete has strange, semi-occult options based on your fluff research.

...you have assembled an original LRC and survived to tell the tale.

...you physically threaten other Space Marine players considering allying xenos.

...you carry out the above threats. SUFFER NOT THE UNCLEAN TO LIVE!

...When you see a fellow Black Templar player walk into the local GW, set up his BT models, and then pull out his new eldar allies. A few days later the store manager decides he likes the new red walls and lets you come back and play again.

This.

... when you can highlight black better than anyone else in your gaming group.

... when you find reasons to paint red because you shade it so well.

... when you've goten pretty good at free-handing script

... when you have to prove to your opponent that Helbrecht really does have "that many attacks"

Hahahah! Lovely.

When your friend plays a blood angel codex army that is fluff'd to be a chaos force, and you straight up tell him that you will not be his ally. (We did a 2v3 game and when picking teams I literally told him I would not ally with him because of his army)

You know your a black templar when:

after losing to daemons you cut off your dice rolling hand because it must of become infected, from know on you have a custom power axe attached with a special dice cup linked onto the bloody stump.

you modded your rollerblades to look like crusaders (so wish I could do this)

when someone came to your door asking you to give to christian aid, you returned with a gun and a single shot, handing it over saying "This is for you, and I would choose the shot for when I return it will be painful" pointing at your spiked flail hanging in the hallway

... when you take a Venerable Dread to a fight (Blood & Glory event, GW shop in Warsaw) against a Looted Leman, a real Leman, an Ork Battlewagon and a Tau Hammerhead (Gauss Cannon, AP1! SNAP!).

... when you're happy that the scatter die placed you on the edge of the table and within 12" of three out of four opponents in that event, so there's only room to push forward.

... after the Leman killed the Looted one and you managed to only glance the Hammerhead, which in turn blasts off your lascannons, when you grin madly because now your only option is Close Combat, so you outright charge the Hammerhead and cause a "6" - EXPLOSION!

... when after that, you proceed to slam the Battlewagon into the ground, first disarming it and then exploding it when it tries to drive away.

... when the lone traitorous Leman at the other side of the 48" table tries for three rounds to shoot you, while you Run at him - without even deploying Smoke Launchers once, because +++ EMPEROR PROTECTS +++

... and finally, when you get to him, rip his turret off and then get inside through the engine, killing the crew!

My "Most Glorious General" diploma ;)

@Kastor- that is awesome! The Emperor indeed protects! Taking a dread to a vehicle bash is brazen! Love it!

It is also, so far, the only vehicle model in my 1500 pts. army = footsloggin' cc all the way.

You sir, are a legend! That was an awesome account. What pray tell is your dreads name? It should be immortalized.

Cheers,

The name is Ancient Knight Kadosh, from the one of the highest initiate levels of the Scottish Freemasonic Rite [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knight_Kadosh ], which also happens to have a eerily familiar icon (and see the Templar Cross there, too?):

Oh, and to continue the thread, I just came across this:

Truly, a Dark Knight he is. The Aquila on his chest is a bit iffy, what with the "ears" instead of two heads, but he's CC-oriented like any good Black Templar! :)

Also, IIRC the Ultramarine in Space Marine was also suspected of being tainted by the Warp. A very good reason to help an Inquisitor deal with a member of a lesser Chapter.

We should Tag team with the Grey Knights to purge all those who do not meet our and their exacting standards.
...tag-team...with witches? :D

If we are to tag-team with one of the Chambers Militant of the Inquisition, we should do what we did in the Vinculus Crusade and work with the Adeptus Sororitas.

Except for some reason the good Sisters seem to think that the Black Templars were the ones who did the Khornate blood sacrifice ceremony with the innocent Sisters. Only valid reason for Black Templars being the only Space Marines that aren't allies of convenience with Sisters. Heck I think we are the only Imperial faction with that problem.

:D

That is actually the 33d degree symbol (note the 33 on top). The 30th degree (Knight Kadosh) is the doubleheaded eagle (aquila) on a Teutonic cross (the one that looks like four "T"s stuck together at their bases).

Indeed, an aquila, a teutonic cross and what might be taken as a CLOSE COMBAT WEAPON (I've seen smaller versions with a sword in the talons). What else do we need? :D

... when you go against Imperial Fists in a footsloggin' "combat exercise" and kick their asses so hard they go back to Papa Dorn to tell on you.

... when they come back "with a vengeance" for a 1500 pt. "real game", bring all the mechanized they can and you still win with victory points, while still footsloggin' and charging.

... when you achieve said point victory despite losing most of units to the grind, despite losing your TH/SS squad to the fickle warp and with none of your BT or allied CF ICs dying (despite of the technically weakest of them challenging the enemy warlord and squishing him to a "power-fist marine pie" filling).

Just for the record, that is probably my favorite Batman 'book of all time.
