You know you're a Templar when...

you tell everyone that your Marshal (or Chaplain or Emperor's Champion) is not just a Warhammer 40k figure, not just a toy, not just some plastic/resin/metal blob and will definitely not have any other model of the exact same paint scheme, same design and same weaponry... for you tell everyone that this is your physical representation on the battlefield (or tabletop :tongue.:), you applaud every witch your main HQ model has killed, rejoiced in every Challenge he has succeeded in, embraced in the glory and victory of your Crusade, and felt the pain of every defeat your model has suffered...

You know you're a Templar when...

You stopped thinking your Marshal is just a model... he is you on the tabletop... incarnate...

Here's mine:

In that case, I love your hair! :biggrin.:

@Eberious: A Space Marine, where a Templar plays as the Tactical marine using nothing but the bolt pistol and the combat knife. (multiplayer, that is)

Funny story about that, actually, I was playing Space Marine with a buddy of mine, when some guy send us a message, inviting us to his chapter (clan), namely the Word Bearers....

We sent him a message explaining our loyalty to the Emperor, and which Zealous Chapter we belong to, we also made it quite clear that we considered him a heretic. :tongue.:

When your wife asks why Arn: The Knight Templar and Ironclad are on our Netflix que and the directors edition of Kingdom of Heaven is on the coffee table and your response of "Because ZEAL" leads an explanation of ETL 2014 and that tabletop wargaming miniatures should NOT be referred to as "figurines."

And when you end up divorcing your wife becasue she called your Templars cute.  .

...when you bought another Land Raider.

...when you ask yourself: "So this one isn't a crusader, but I already got 3 LRC".

...when you ask yourself: "Should I buy another LRC?".

...when you understand that you're definitly Addicted to LRC.

... when you consider buying the Strike Force Ultra for the Storm Raven and LRC, willing to pawn off all the termies.

When you realize you want to keep all the TH/SS termies.

And the "Marshal", maybe. And the dread. And the shooty termies, which will just become LC/LC termies, because there's nothing like too many assault termies.

...When you've lost a Tournament, (6th on the 6 players that participated), but Won as Templar because you've killed the ONLY Psyker of the Tournement and be happy of this. (one IG played an Astropath in his Command Squad, and he took one Sniper Headshot with AP2, thanks to Rending)

I'd say you won the tournament. One witch is worth any number of sparkly baubles.

Well done...also, make sure to add your tally to the killed witches thread. :smile.:

THERE'S A KILLED WITCHES THREAD!?:blink.:

Here, Brother. Do abhor, please.

.... you're watching Battle of the Nations (medieval combat tournament thingie) while preparing your Templars to be painted.

Wow, I thought I was the only one watching that this morning.  Evidently not.  Did you see the 2nd round of Poland vs New Zealand?  Zeal was not a factor for them.

Seen at least 3 NZ matches, can't remember the opponents though. Kind of funny though, armored dudes basically wrestling it out. Russia has been dominating pretty nastily...

... when you've pissed off the LGS manager for calling everyone who use Witches Heretics...

... when you always ask you're opponent if they have a Witch in their army... then if yes, aim for the Witch the entire game, with all the guns you have, regardless of mission

... when on your 1st Turn you pick up the 'Witch Hunter' Tactical objective and a smile creeps across your face.

... when the LGS manager tells you that witches are currently the big thing in games of 40k since everyone is taking them and there is the psychic phase and you answer with the Google image:

THIS.

Umm...NO THIS!

PERHAPS HE NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE  PSYCHIC PHASE ISN'T A NEW GAME FEATURE, IT'S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR TEMPLARS TO DEMONSTRATE THEIR ZEAL!

I must say that after quite a bit more watching over the weekend I got quite interested in picking medieval combat such as this as a hobby myself. And the local medieval combat club, small as it is (not that there are many hobbyists in the whole of Finland!) even has a semi-Templar-ish cross on its tabard! :tongue.: Downside? Why do I always to get interested in such expensive hobbies... :dry.: But at least it would be quite a Templar-ish one :P

You know you are a Black Templar player when....

Your army's basic colour scheme only just passes the GW 3 colours min to play in store.

You know when you are Iron Hands player when your colour scheme only has 3 three colours!

When you kill cats for being fleshy things that kill mice!

Where you Abhor Weakness!

------------------

@Makers - ...You root for the Empire in Star Wars because they follow tradition, and they because they are Black and White.

And of course, Jedi are witches.

@Roesor - You know you're Black templar when you go to the same tailor as Darth Vader

@Marshal2Crusaders - Darth Vader, the Dragon Age Templars, and the Teutonic Knights are my favorite sources of inspiration for modelling.

My Marshal conversion is an all black armored badass with an all black tabard and all black cloak. I dont know how to paint it yet.

He is the Black Knight. It's pretty ballin.

Except that Darth Vader and the supposed Emperor were both WITCHES.

Evidence of Black Templars Liking WITCHES.

Sorry Zealous Followers of Dorn.

When after having bought the Space Marine battleforce the only thing interesting to you on the tactical sprues are the backs, the legs and the occasional beakie head or studded pauldron. Otherwise, everything else is Templar themed and you make new Crusaders.

When you download Templar 6 months before it's released in stores just because Sigismund is the main character and after listening to aforementioned audio drama, twice, you have the unshakeable desire to bind a weapon to your wrist with links of blackened plasteel.

Funny story:

A buddy of mine wanted to co-op the Kill Team video game with me. We finished the story (using a Techmarine and Sternguard) and moved on to the survival challenges. Since they have set classes for those, I was forced to play as the Librarian Witch.

I made a vow, then and there, to grab the Health and Melee damage upgrades, and refuse to use the Special (Heresy) power, and trust only my martial skills. Thus, the Emperor's Champion build was born. :biggrin.:

We almost died laughing, and we got gold on the challenge. Success!

...when you bought "Lords of Mars" just because THERE ARE TEMPLARS ON THE COVER!!!! (because I don't read a lot, maybe one day I will read it but not for the moment.)

FOR SIGISMUND!!!!

Now you got to buy the other one "Priests of Mars" because the Templars rock.
