SgtTelion
Only just seen this! Im living in Barry, and go to Firestorm quite a bit. Someone asked about the atmosphere down there... Its awesome. Rob (the owner) is a great guy, the facilities are very good, and its nice and relaxed. Its dead easy to organise a big even down there too. Hopefully i will see some of you down there.. who knows, i probably already have - usernames are very unrevealing :to: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220022-welsh-hobbyists/page/3/#findComment-2979431 Share on other sites
PrimarchsOutOfTen
Hey all, We're a chilled out gaming club based in North Wales, (just 15mins from Chester), established early last year. We're still a fairly small club, but we're always looking for more members to keep us growing! We meet fortnightly on Mondays at Hawkesbury Community Centre in Buckley (CH7 3HA), and play mostly 40k, but also fantasy, Necromunda and Warmachine, plus whatever you want to bring to the table! Over 16s only - but just £2 to game, and only £1 to spectate and enjoy the atmosphere (with tea and coffee included). Our next club meet is tomorrow, January 30th, so if you fancy a game, come along and check us out! ) We're on Facebook too - look for: F.G.C Monday Night Gaming, in groups. dijital_llama
I hope that this isn't overstepping any power-armoured boundaries but I was wondering if anyone in the cardiff area was interested in playing a Necromunda campaign? Leonis
Alright lads? Cardiff boy here, although I'm originally from Pontypool. When did Cwmbran get a bloody GW? I used to have to travel to Newport!!! Luckily I live about 10 minutes from GW Cardiff and 15 from Firestorm. I'll chip in with everyone else and say that Firestorm is great. Rob the owner is a great guy and they have a massive back room with dozens of gaming tables. Also their coffee machine is my friend. ;) If you haven't been there yet give it a look. Oh and Dijital_Llama, I haven't played Necromunda in years but I was going to try and round up my usual gaming group and try to get them into it. I'd be very interested. <_< calgar101 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220022-welsh-hobbyists/page/3/#findComment-3141286 Share on other sites

Silverson
Wow this post is old. They still play down firestorm games on Thursday I believe and when I went there a few months back to see if I could manage going down and playing regularly everyone was only to happy to talk and speak about the hobby, and tel me how they arrange games. (Usually on there website I believe) Me, my brother and our 2 friends are heading down there on Sunday for a game(1st march 2015).Feel free to introduce yourselves if your there.but I'll be honest we don't get to play all that much so if your looking for games I recommend Thursdays. calgar101 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220022-welsh-hobbyists/page/3/#findComment-3958534 Share on other sites

IvorTheEngine
We have a smallish (about 30) group in Merthyr Tydfil that meets every Thursday in the Theatr Soar from 6-9pm, The club night costs £3, but you get this back at the end of the year in prizes following the annual apocalypse game. calgar101 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220022-welsh-hobbyists/page/3/#findComment-3973173 Share on other sites

IvorTheEngine
I've been meaning myself to get across for a game here, I've heard good things about this club. You'd be very welcome, we already have a couple of guys who come down from Brecon. We usually play 1500 - 2000 pt games with a mixture of 1v1 and 2v2 as we only have 10 tables available at the moment, but Paul the organiser who runs the FLGS "A Better World" on the High St is adding 7 tables into his shop in the next month or so. The shop and the Theatr are a 30sec walk apart. calgar101 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220022-welsh-hobbyists/page/3/#findComment-3974109 Share on other sites

Balthamal
Firestorm's new place is a massive improvement on the old premises. It basically caters to every type of tabletop and CCG now. Main 40k night is a Tuesday since that's the night most of my club hang around but there's pretty much 40k going on every day down there Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220022-welsh-hobbyists/page/3/#findComment-3975068 Share on other sites
Common Enemy
Do you reckon people at Firestorm are the kinda crowd who'd be up for playing stuff like 500pt battles and kill team? because i cant really afford to go bigger than that right now and i'm desperate to get some games in since i havent played since just before 5th edition was released! I just have a good memory of trying to play 500-800 point games and people just being like "no, i only play 1500+" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220022-welsh-hobbyists/page/3/#findComment-3975219 Share on other sites
Balthamal
Yup the Tuesday crowd are fairly relaxed about such stuff. Usually play all sorts of points sizes so rock up and let it roll. Just ask for the Vale Renegades when you pay and you'll be pointed in the right direction Common Enemy 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220022-welsh-hobbyists/page/3/#findComment-3975405 Share on other sites
