" turns out the original mounts for the HB need quite a bit of amending to work but got there in the end"

I can imagine   But it was worth it :smile.:

By the way; just wondering, why do you use these little thumbnail images ? I would like to see your stuff in all its glory without having to click on them. I know I am lazy :biggrin.:

Batu: Good point on the images! It used to be really easy but then the system got changed and no for the life of me I can not get the B&C url's to work so I forced to post the tiny pics! Any and all advice on how to post bigger pictures would be much appreciated!

Squeaky: thanks brother, always great to hear one has inspired somebody, and give the vehicles a go, not as hard wait looks in some cases and so long as you have a load of plasti-card, some plastic rod, greenstuff, sharp knife, ruler , compass and some fine grit sand paper you can make a good of most things and fix most mistakes! Oh and patience, quite a bit of patience!

Cheers all!

sockwithaticket: Cheers brother, I sure hope so but as is my want I have been distracted....

Second phase of PzH 40000, we have basic turret shape, main gun mounted with full traverse and elevation. Yay!

Turret blocked out now, still need to box in the Hull extensions and then doe the SM armour effect and detailing, Yay!

Cheers all!

batu: I know what you mean! Accidental though that is.

Edit: And it will be run as a whirlwind....

Kierdale: Ha, cheers brother!

Palladin7221: You sir are obviously a filthy witch! I literally only saw those yesterday and immediately decided that they would form the basis of the hull, looks like it is a simple addition to the rino hull in the same way the vindicator side armour is so can crack on with the current set up and add the stabilizers later on!

Cheers all!

My first thought upon seeing your latest work was "that is obviously going to be named a Compensator-class Whirlwind."  :D

I kid, I kid.  Look forward to seeing more done to it, right now it looks a little big for the chassis.

Haa! Brilliant!

And thus was the Compensator-class Whirlwind born!

I know what you mean about the chassis, hoping the widening with the "Hunter" style stabilizers broadening the lower half will, er, compensate?:laugh.:

But will hopefully be posting tonight with an update on the Marine armour look!

Cheers all!

Greetungs all!

Dorns_fist: Cheers chap!

Moving on to the Compensator, making some ting look like it is Marine tech is most irritating. but quite pleasing when it works:

Actuallly think it has helped break up the box shape and helps tie it to the chassis some

gallery_42238_5618_176078.jpg

And dare I say it looks less bulky?

gallery_42238_5618_221875.jpg

No probably not, but this should tone down some when I get a base coat on....

Thats it for today, none the less thanks for the continuing support!

Cheers all!

Nice detailing, that looks good.  Once the rivets, smoke launchers, and other ephemera go on to break up some of the flatter spaces it'll look even better.  Given the...size...of the main gun, I'd go with some heavier stabilizers than the Stalker/Hunter.  Same style, sure, but more bulky.  Just my 5 cents (inflation, don't ya know).

It looks definitely more space mariny now.

Do you have a special technic for cutting plastic card ? Your stuff looks so precise. Or are you just a talented craftsman ?

Not the OP, but I've asked people with this level of skill that and it really boils down to a) measure twice, cut once. b ) make sure your blades are sharp.  If they're not, replace them.  c) get a square to do angles with, and a metal rule to keep your cuts straight. d) practice.

I'm still working on that last one, myself.  :smile.:

Thanks batu, on the plasticard i have learn't mainly from some of the chaps on this forum, Blackadder in particular has been an inspiration in what is achievable and indeed technique, not that I am even close to his level yet but basically the following works for me:

Measure out the shape on a bit of paper and trim to shape

Mark out on to plasticard

Score with a scalpel

Snap off

sand

dry fit

sand/file

dry fit

sand/file

dry fit

etc etc until its about right!

Done some more work on the Compensator:

Basically boxed in the back of the hull which does even up the proportions some which is good, also may be a convenient for some stablizing legs i have mocked up....

hmmm

Yup coming together nicely, just waiting on a bits order to get it to the next phase.

Cheers all!

Ah, ninjad by ChromeZephyr!

But yes chap, quite agree about the detailing needed to break up the flat surfaces, looking forward to that! re stabilizers, well see above :biggrin.:

And yeah, you're basically spot on re the plasticard too!
