ChromeZephyr
Might be too late to do this, but perhaps extend the rear angled insets on the Rhino through the stabilizer section? It would add a more cohesive look, I think. Probably coming later, but some mechanical bit to show more of how the stabilizers move up and down do the vehicle can move. Are they rotated on central pivot 180º, or are they more piston-like? rednekkboss
Great work as always. I'm loving the plastic card work (and as usual, getting ideas of how to loot it) Personally, I love the options that including allies give and can't wait to see some of the allied units for the Night Hunters (especially knowing their background) Are you as excited as I am about the upcoming codex? My Raptors are being dusted off already. I'm filling out at least 1 tactical squad and starting on another Assault team. PLUS.. I think I may go back and do a "Raptors 2,0" make over and camo up some of the heraldry. NightHunters
Chrome Zephyr: Yea that is something that I have been ruminating on. Actually quite a tricky one, as the angles dont quite work but I know I have to do something with it.... Any thoughts appreciated! And re the Stabilizers going piston / telescopic and again there will be an external nod to that for sure. rednekkboss: Cheers Chap! Yes indeedy, rather excited what the new dex has to offer and as you say, it may lead to much expenditure on plastic crack as various new options are trialed and tested! Cheers all! NightHunters
Cheers chaps, many thanks indeed for the above! Delighted to report that i am back, very happy but significantly poorer! None the less did a wee bit of work on the compensator, rear struts in, interior started! And now a question to the board, do we go with the hunter/stalker side skirts or not? With Without Now the rear struts are on I almost feel the side stabilisers are surplus to requirements and make the whole thing rather, well, messy. Let me know what y'all think! Cheers all FTE Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220620-night-hunters-wip-pic-heavy/page/23/#findComment-3471641 Share on other sites
Warsmith Aznable
I like the stabilisers on, mostly because it's a new bit. It works either way, really. With the stabilisers bit on it removes the side doors, which I kind of like, since it moves the chassis away from its original design as a troop carrier. sockwithaticket
I vote stabilisers at the back only, the extra ones on the side don't look right. It's awesome seeing this beast come to completion. Rafen_2
I like with the side stabilizers myself. It's not too much of an addition and it adds a wee bit of bulk which is cool. Biohazard
Congrats on the wedding mate. I'd have to vote for the extra stabilisers. That thing looks rooted to the spot now. Kierdale
Congratulations again. And great work on the Compensator! The detailing is excellent. I wasn't sure about the stabilisers at first but the more I compare the two photos, The more I think they look good on there. Also, as Max said, it looks less like an APC then. NightHunters
Evening all! So the hunter/stalker skirts have it! Interesting........ My instinct would side with sockwithaticket but the forum has spoken! Bio: Ah the flyer, yes, almost there, thinking about the second door gunner and the last little bits of greenstuff to do then ready for paint, thinking I am going to batch paint the flyer, the razorback, the predator and the compensator. What could possibly go wrong? Also almost finished the interior. And added some hatches to the rear of the turret. So really nearing completion now, rivets, and some retaining bars on the ready use ammo in the hull and finito! Unless any other ideas crop up..... Cheers all! Kierdale
Lookin fantastic! Can't believe you're detailing the interior at this stage, rather than when it was still 'open' (unless it does still come apart?). Very nice interior. Once you've painted the interior how about adding some clutter? A magazine, discarded ration packaging, etc? If it weren't marines I'd suggest some ear protectors. Biohazard
The detail you've put into the Compensator is amazing buddy, can't wait to see it finished. As for the flyer that's the one I'm really excited about. Quick question, did you post a list of parts for the flyer and I've missed it? I'm feeling I may want to completely rip off...I mean 'borrow' your design and make it slightly more chaotic....:D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220620-night-hunters-wip-pic-heavy/page/23/#findComment-3473406 Share on other sites

ChromeZephyr
Nice re-use of the magna-grapple for the breach on the cannon there, sir. Took me a second to figure out where it came from. Gonna be a nice piece to put with the rest of the force when you're finished, that's for sure. NightHunters
Kierdale: Thanksfully it still comes apart, well the turret comes off and the breech comes off and the turret ring is quite a bit bigger than standard which also helps! Thinking I may have to have a gunner/loader standing on the ramp with a remote trigger or similar but we sgall see! Biohazard:Cheers Brother! Regards parts not listed but consists of Storm Raven x1, Side panels x2 (1 of each side), Storm Talon cockpit, Valkyrie door guns and I believe Storm Talon Lascannons. Not forgetting plasticard, lots of plsticard. And curse words. Very bad curse words. reckoning34: Thanks to you brother! ChromeZephyr: Yeah, looked like it might work and thankfully it does! And i hope to agree with you on the last bit there but wouldn't be the first one I screw up at the last minute so fingers crossed! More soon, not today, maybe Saturday!
