Rune Priest out of Wolves Pack

So, after seeing the simple though inspired work on this Wolf Priest conversion, I'm starting to see the awesome possibilities of building everything that I need right out of the Wolves Pack: Grey Hunters, Wolf Lord, Wolf Priest, and Rune Priest! However, I'm really new to the modeling aspect so I'm looking for some examples/ideas. Has anyone made a Rune Priest conversion out of (mostly) the parts in the Wolves Pack box? I'd like to see!

WIP at the moment. The legs and torso aren't from the space wolves box, but thats just because i wanted the armour to be plain so i could add runes to make runic armour.

Im also not so sure about the psychic hood thing that i made out of a spare shoulder pad, i think i might have another go at it.

Hey that's cool. I like it. Here's an idea I had: has anyone shaved the extra hand off of that Frost Axe that comes in the kit to make it into a big one-hander? I was thinking of doing that, or at least sanding down the "fingers" on it, then painting it to like like some kind of "brass ring" on the axe.

Yeah, I did that for one of my son's AOBR Terminator conversions. (yeah power armour hand glued onto TDA arm - it was all we had, and actually doesn't look bad at all) Not a wolf priest, but wanted the terminator to have a one handed frost axe. I have some photos if you're interested I can try and figure out how to post images. I've been meaning to post some photos of the wolves my son and I have done for a while.

I just used a knife to cut the hand + fingers off and then scrape it round again.

EDIT: here's a pic, although you can't see much - I can take one of just the axe if you want to see it.

Here is my Rune Priest made out of Space Wolves box, a pair of Dark Angels legs, green stuff, a skull and some plastic rod.

I made this guy (mostly) out of the Space Wolves Pack kit. Here's the list:

-Body: standard Pack Kit chest and cape-back with guitar string wiring (optional),

-Legs: standard Pack Kit legs,

-Head: standard Pack Kit head,

-Backpack: standard Pack Kit backpack with standard Pack Kit totem thingy (optional),

-Arms: standard Pack Kit 'axe-arms' with standard Pack Kit shoulder pads,

-Runic Weapon: 2 standard Pack Kit frost axes, one regular axe with the base of the shaft extended with the shaft of the second (optional) and the rune bitty filed off the axe head (optional),

-Psychic Hood: standard (regular) space marine shoulder pad with circular part cut-out on either side half way up it (optional),

-Talismans: all from the Pack Kit.

As you can see the only pieces on mine which aren't from the Space Wolves Pack Kit are optional and not entirely need (nowhere does it say a Rune Priest needs a psychic hood or chest tubing).

Hope this helps you,

Bloodhowl

Here are the three I'm working on for the LPC. The middle and top are with the new SW parts for the most part. The bottom one, is my 13th company Rune Priest which I modelled many years back. He is using the old sw bits and chaos bitz and the axe from the metal Power armoured rune priest

Although the rules do not reflect psychic hoods all Space Wolf rune priests created by GW have worn them.

The new Njal in termy armour has one too.

Actually the power armor rune priest from GW does not have a psychic hood, just some cables to his temple.

And besides, psychic hoods are for librarians, we are Rune Priests, all we need is a runic weapon and mother nature!
