MalachiOfRuss
used weapons and arms bit from the space wolves pack. Thw base was a AOBR model so would have been even better using an actual model from the pack. So, is that the two-handed axe from the sprue? I can't see totally clearly but it looks like there isn't another hand on it. How did you do that?
Growler67
The final construction details are drying but I PROMISE I will post pics tomorrow of a Rune Priest I created over the last 3 days. Some drilling, but no pinning and mostly from parts available from the Wofl Box. A few customizing pieces from other places but the basic character is straight from the box. Look for pics in the morning.
Growler67
Here you go. I try to pay attention to lines when constructing models. It's more to pay attention to the more dynamic the pose. What irks me are statue poses with things that look out of place, things that appear to be swining ot flailing but the charatcer looks stationary, ya know what I mean. Keeping my mind on presenting a model with appropriate lines is important to me. There is a little plastic dust left from some of my scrapings but I got nearly all the visible molding flash removed - another thing that bothers me. Whaddaya think? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v457/tyggrr65/Models/DSC02143.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v457/tyggrr65/Models/DSC02144.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v457/tyggrr65/Models/DSC02145.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v457/tyggrr65/Models/DSC02146.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v457/tyggrr65/Models/DSC02147.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v457/tyggrr65/Models/DSC02148.jpg
MalachiOfRuss
Personally, I'm not a fan of the big sign coming off of his backpack (seems to clash with the staff). However, I love the spear/staff thing with the little shield. How did you make it?
Growler67
Personally, I'm not a fan of the big sign coming off of his backpack (seems to clash with the staff). However, I love the spear/staff thing with the little shield. How did you make it? The bottom of with the spear point is from a Chaos Marauder. The top is a Dwarf Standard pole, I used it for the runestones. The top piece is from the Wolf Box, it's a backpack icon. I used the wolf tooth on its left side to hang a wolf tail accessory. The shield is from a dwarf bits I ordered, I chose it for the additional runestones.. I shaved and filed down the face that was on it and added a trimmed Beastmen of Ungor shield boss. It was originally a goats head or something. I trimmed off the horns and cut indentations to make the ears a bit more prominent. The backpack ornament I chose has a flatspot at the top on the back side. I figured it would be ideal for his "Chooser of the Slain" to perch from when not deplyed. I thought it fir the character of the model as it displays a runic tome. It was mounted with another Dwarf Standard pole, with runestones. The Runic legs and I chose the torso with the runes carved into it, the shoulder pauldrons with the runestones, the left arm with a runestone, the backpack with runestones....catching the theme? I tried to use as many pieces as I could with runes and runestones because.....it's a Rune Priest.
Calacorm
Here is one of my Wolf Priests made 100% from the box. http://dragon.extracaffeine.com/download/file.php?id=3 http://dragon.extracaffeine.com/download/file.php?id=2 I have since started to paint him, and I am currently fixing the mace head. But as you requested, made entirely from the grey hunters box. EDIT: Oppps, You said Ruin Priest, thought you said Wolf Priest, my bad...
MalachiOfRuss
That's cool! I love cutting the wolf skull off of the icon and using it as a head. I might steal that idea for my Wolf Priest.
Hazelnut
As requested, some close-ups of the 2h Axe converted to 1 handed. The first two were taken (not so close up) when I finished converting all the AoBR terminator arms. The second two were taken tonight, and were as close as I could get them with my camera - any closer and it was like vaseline had been smeared on the lens. Any nice/constructive comments on the painting most welcome. I do plan to make a thread with lots of piccies of the entire army at some point, the flash always makes the blue too bright - they're much darker in the flesh. Hope this helps you MalachiOfRuss! Emperor's Scourge
To the OP: I like your model. That said, on to the criticism. Its really busy looking. Like you went a bit bitz crazy. It also looks like it'll be a bitch to transport without breaking. Still, good conversion. I like it.
