Hey there all.

I made my vow a while ago in hopes to get me motivated to getting my army painted. It's exceptionally hard when I have such a busy school schedule and other things in life to attend to, but I am a firm believer that given a deadline I will be less likely to procrastinate when I have free time.

Without further ado, here is the current state of my VV.

My paint schemes have varied over time on my testers. But I think now that I have all my colors and primers, I have a pretty good idea where I'm headed with them. As for the construction portion, I'm going to leave the arms off until I get a good idea of what kind of opponents I will be expecting in my area (it's be a decision between LC or PWs), and I will be painting all else separately. It's been a while since I got back into the hobby, but I'm pretty confident I have all the knowledge I need to embark on assembling my army. So that being said, my LPC vow may be updated when I have at least these few minis done up.

Here's a photo of the amount of stuff I have ahead of me to build and paint:

There's a total of 40 assault marines, 40 tactical, 2 rhinos, 1 land raider, and a whole bunch of pewter figures and an old school furioso.

I should be getting them primed tomorrow and starting to work on a bit of painting.

A question I have is regarding tools. First I want to know if anyone has a good recommendation on scrapers for mold lines. I've googled them to get a good idea of what they are, but does anyone have suggestions? And secondly, I need recommendations on hand/electric drills. The drill I have now is from way back in the day and is faulty, not being able to hold onto a 1/16 drill bit well. Also where can I find 1/16 => size drill bits? I've looked for them at my local hardware stores (Ace/Home Depot) and can't find any. My local hobby store is stocked to sub-standards regarding their miniature section.

You'll need a file set for removing lines, and a sharp knife, like these:

And a hand drill like this is fine for most modelling needs, I've never needed an elecrical version. You could have a look at Dremel if you plan to cut up a lot of metal.
