Ven dread with LEDs

Recommended Posts

So I just picked up a venerable dreadnought kit and want to put some lights and possibly a motor (for the assault cannon). Has anybody done LEDs in the plasma cannon and/or the las cannon arm bits? I'm pretty sure I can pull it off but guidance is always helpful.

I think I can help here. :) LEDs in infantry and dreadnoughts from page 20 onwards. A brief how-to on the dreadnoughts can be found on page 24. http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=202224

At some point I'll put together a more detailed guide with step-by-step pics but I hope this is useful in the meantime. :)

This looks like a good place to start looking at what you might need.

Very nice find. I'll still look around some but I'm 90% sure this is where I'll be getting the parts from.

Also I promise to take lots of WIP pics and put a tutorial together.

@bobhunk: I really like the chest lights on your dreads. With proper credit given, consider this idea thoroughly stolen.

Thanks. :( Yes please feel free to pinch the idea. ;) Just to let you know though, I ended up taking the chest lights out of the Dreadnoughts because they over-powered the LEDs in the eyes. If you're not bothering doing the eyes though it shouldn't be a problem.

I forgot to mention, I really recommend this website: http://www.rapidonline.com/

Delivery is very fast and prices are reasonable, so if you know what you're doing with a soldering iron then there are a wide selection of components available. :)
