Debauchery101 Posted February 27, 2011 Share Posted February 27, 2011 im looking o get an airbrush for mainly base coating and some highlight/shading on vehicles and stuff but im not sure how much i should spendon an airbrush. i really dont see myself using it for much else and the cheaper the better imo but i dont want something that gonna go to crap after a year. any help woudl be great thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Tanhausen Posted February 28, 2011 Share Posted February 28, 2011 Most single action airbrushes (push the trigger, out goes the paint, no control on the air-paint mix) go for 10 Euros at your local hobby stores. Those are more than enough to prime and to base coat. Highlighting... I guess its possible for large flat areas (for example, the sides of a tank, but not the sponsons or similar), but it would take quite a bit of practice. As for the airsource (which is really important), decent compressors go for 50-60 Euros: run away from canned air, its EXPENSIVE and with 6 or 7 of those bottles, you would have already bought the compressor.
