mughi3 Posted April 18, 2011 Share Posted April 18, 2011 Forge world fun- Me and a buddy are both enjoying some of the new FW releases and we decided to give them a whirl on the table. his eldar got to try out the new wraithlord warlock while i threw down the sige dread assault force featuring the salamnder special character dreadnought from imperial armor 10. Eventually we will be getting the approapriate models(well he is getting the wraithlord, i have yet to see if they make the ashmantle dread for me to buy) but for now we used proxies and quick conversions. The game was a 2K game with 5 objectives, 12" deployment. His force was .X2 missle wave serpents .X3 lance/missile wraithlords .X1 wraith seer with D cannon(HQ) .X10 wraithguard .eldrad .firedragons .dire avengers guardians with missile platform. My force was .master fo the force with full harness+ power weapon .X3 servitors .Bray'arth ashmantle(HQ venerable ironclad) .X1dread talon troop(ironclads X3) .X1 dreadtalon troop(siege dread X3) .X3 venerable las/missile dreads The wraithseer really made his army work, reducing my cover saves by 1, freeing the writh units from having to check for wraith sight and a few interesting powers. enliven actually worked as he brought a lone wraith guard i kille dback from the dead on a 6+ The siege dreads took the brunt of his fire since hellstom cannons do bad things to infantry. i only got into CC 1 time and lost the siege dread to S9 sword strikes. i managed to command the right flank but he stopped me cold on the left. pretty much ending the game for me when he managed to get off eldritch storm and spin Bray'arth around exactly how he needed to shoot him in the back and kill him. I still enjoyed running the dread list and look forward to fielding it again. Yes but your limited tot the types of dreads you can use as troops because it is specifically a siege style list(read heavy urban terrain). did you use the jail fire dreads?
