New Airbrush + ebay/forums = Crimson Fists army

You should absolutely weather the rhino more. The tracks need some mud/dirt. You might want to consider adding a little battle damage to the tank as well, light scratches and cracks like the ones on your marines would add a lot of character to the rhino.

yea will prob go back and do all the tanks at the same time

just got one of those cheapo airbrushes from ebay and imbeginning to think youre right about the brushes - will probably pick up a decent badger or iwata one as i am NOT impressed by the results ive got with the one i got.

great work on these, love the blue and i bet the airbrush saves a lot of time painting (though the cleaning is what annoys me!)

keep up the good work

cant recommend the steenbeck brush enough as for cleaning use really hot tap water makes things easier to clean

How long did it take to do the blue on a 10man squad?

to do the blue on 30 tac and a capt took about 30min :-) try beating that with a normal brush all that was left to do is final highlight then blue was done i think the transfers took the longest to do

Could you please explain wich steps you make, including priming??? I love your final blue tone.

I use THIS for my undercoat top stuff it coats really smooth and is dirt cheap as well (shop around on eBay you can get it cheaper that was the first one that came up) then i break out the air brush with model air blue 71004 cover the mini add some white spray down from angle hitting where the light would reflect repeat with more white then highlight with a fine detail brush using astro grey foundation....... bare in mind that these are the first mini’s that I've painted with it and I'm new to the airbrush so I'm learning as i go on.

here's the 3 tac squad finished been busy with tons of other stuff (will be doing a couple of big updates on my other plogs in the next week or so...)

planning on getting these finished soon so if anybody's interested in em drop me a pm if not there off to eBay

I haven't been on in a few days but did earlier to quickly update my blog, these are very very nice, I really like the LR....the air brushing on that is superb....one thing I may say, if I may, one of the Vangaurd Vets, just above the right eyes lens the extreme highlight you've done is a little thick for that area....but other than that fantastic thread so far...making me wanna push on more With my Dorns boys in blue.

Keep it coming sir

RE: slow comments, I think we're all totally envious of the stupendous quality/volume of hobby you turn out, and can't bring ourselves to comment.

One of the main things that will draw comments from myself is originality (which usually means conversions, though paintwork can be original too). I realise that with commission work your hands may be tied somewhat - after all you need to work on what your client wants. If they want standard minis, then you're painting standard minis.

Sergeant Bruce Willis is greatly improved by the Sicarius helmet hand, it really complements the rest of his pose which now becomes 'huzzah for victory' or somesuch. Much better than the stock 'look at my two improbably large weapons as I strut' pose. Not that it's that bad but yours makes more sense.
