Black Hand Posted June 26, 2011 Share Posted June 26, 2011 That was a misunderstanding - I think something got lost in translation a while back. Average Legion size was 100,000, for really reals. The Word Bearers had 100,000 fifty years before the outbreak of the Heresy though, yep. I'm glad they officially changed that. The whole "each legion is only 10 chapters in size" made everything feel too small. This would put the number of active marines during the great crusade at around 1.8million or so, which is pretty dang impressive. It also makes the conquest of the entire galaxy via marine-power a little more plausible - and awesome - in my view. Of course, 10,000 marines is hard to stop as it is, but 100,000 could almost certainly do what the books tell us, and with ease too. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
