stuka06
Alright, my Terminators are basicly done. I have to touch up some little stuff, but by now, the biggest part is the Land Raider. Here's a picture of my Squad. I will post close-ups later, but for now social life calls! http://i.imgur.com/p1xDw.jpg
stuka06
Playoff time is painting time! Over the last few weekends I worked on the Assault Squad I started a couple months back for my Redemption. It's the first time I actually painted a whole squad at the same time. I also tried to use some new stuff, like proper eye lenses and Highlighting the Weapons. Usually minor stuff, but I think it adds up. I will continue to experiment with my 2013 Vow. stuka06
So, it's been quite a while since I last posted something and there's a reason for that. I haven't painted anything since then. But, a friend of mine got me back into 40k, curse him, so my old projects have been resurrected. My main issue by now is, that I have not used the new citadel paints. I asked in the Dark Angels forum for some pointers with new colors. I still need to try out the Army Painter Angels Green. Here are some test minis. http://i.imgur.com/Xd5dFJi.jpg Marine 1: that is my main color scheme. I really like the lighter, stronger green. Dark Angels Green with Snot green Marine 2: Cailiban Green basecoat, 2 highlights with Caliban Green + Warboss Green (LGS didn't have Warpstone Glow) and then 2 wash layers of Vallejo Dark Green. Marine 3: Caliban Green basecoat with highlighting of Caliban Green + Snot Green Marine 4: Vallejo Dark Green basecoat, Vallejo Dark Green + Warboss Green highlight. These colors did not mix well. I am gravitating towards Marine 2, although I still have to try out more color mixes, so I took some more pictures of 1 & 2 http://i.imgur.com/72lG1hF.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UJEIsDT.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nGLi7q1.jpg Links to the high res pictures Link 1 Link 2 Link 3 Link 4 Then I also tried out something new with my robes http://i.imgur.com/omAWOuh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KPgNvIp.jpg Marine 1: The old way. Codes Grey, Fortress Grey, Skull Grey Marine 2: Vallejo Cold Grey, Agrax Earthshade, Vallejo Stonewall Grey, Vallejo Dead White Marine 3 + 4: Vallejo Stonewall Grey, Agrax Earthshade, Vallejo Stonewall Grey, Vallejo Dead White I have to say, I kinda like Marine 2. But I'm not sure, if the brown isn't too strong. High Res: Link1 Link 2 What are you guys thinking. I know this is a long post about hypotheticals, but I really have to get the color scheme right, before kinda ruining something like a dreadnought, which I totally haven't done because I didn't test the new paints....promise... stuka06
Alright, time to resurrect this topic. I recently finished my first vow for ETL http://i.imgur.com/QTXSK4H.jpg Now, I'm working in my second vow http://i.imgur.com/mLcVbiq.jpg And I just finished these three. They are the prototypes for my veterans and robes going forward. http://i.imgur.com/6091l9e.jpg
