I finished up the Apothecary,I really like him he came together well.

I used my standard true sons head(chaos lord)

I bought a bunch of termie lord heads to use as unhelmeted members so they all look like Horus.

Uh, question.

Why are they in the colours of Abaddon's Black Legion? If it's Sons of Horus, would it not be in the white/green/gold livery? Or in Luna Wolves livery, the white (or is it grey?) and brass colours?

Still very nice paintwork. Hope u get to makin' the termies.

A few of you sent me messages on how I painted my Sons of Horus.

Today I give you the recipe.

You will need the following paints

From Vallejo Panzer Aces line:

Africa Korps Tank Crew(336),Highlight Russ.I Tkcr(329)

From Citadel:

Chaos Black,Boltgun Metal,Scab Red,Blood Red,Scorched Brown,Thrakka Green,Badab Black,Devlin Mud,Asurman Blue

From Tamiya:

Clear Red

Step one give a good solid base coat with Afirca Korps be sure to thin the Vallejo paint well they tend to be thicker than GW in my experience

Step two mix equal parts Thraka Green,Delvin Mud,Badab Black,Asurman Blue and water for a wash that you will coat the model with.

Be sure the wash in concentrated more in the cracks and not on the flat plates on his armor

Step three use a 50/50 mix of Africa Korps and Russian Highlight use this mix to paint your model carefully leaving the base color at the cracks.

Take your time and use thinner paint and more layers to get a good solid finish

Also paint your blacks and reds at this time so you can use the green mix to fix mistakes

Anything you want as a red gemstone like I am doing on the chest and knees paint Blood Red over the Scab red.

Step four paint your metallics with Boltgun Metal and coat the Red gemstones with Tamiya Clear Red.

Paint or decal your unit markings and weapon of choice and you are good to go

Step five(optional)use just the Russian Highlight if you want to paint hard edge highlights

Been buzy this weekend.

I repainted the Captain from the old army that is one of my favorite conversions ever.

His armor is the same shade now as the rest of the new army.

I also cranked out two bolter brothersfrom the first squad.

The latest and greatest the Dreadnought Bakhart

He is well on his way,I was able to sucessfully scuplt a skinned face for the torso like the picture.

Did a basecoat of Tamiya Hull Red for the primer layer and very lightly sponged on masking fluid.

I then airbrushed him a touch darker than the troops but it will match the tanks when I do them.

The paintjob is finished except for the head.

I have highlighted the damaged chips finished the iconography.

I added VIXI on his other knee which is an ancient Roman prased meaning "I Lived" pastense. I felt perfect for a Dreadnought.

Which is why 17 is an unlucky number in Italy

I am using glosscote for a gloss/satin varnish that I can start using the oil paints on.

Here is the finished Dred.

He is weathered with ancient Chinese secret.

Here is the next thing I am playing around with

A Mk1 Land Raider,I am going to try oil dot filtering to break up the monotone.

Here is the base I am working with right out of page 39 of the HH Anthology

Here is the last special member of the command squad the Company Champion.

He prefers the Mk3 for added protection but uses the Mk4 helm for its advanced sensor suites.
