darth_giles Posted September 17, 2011 Share Posted September 17, 2011 So I got to thinking about the future of my Chaos force, and one of the figures I'm going to eventually need is an apothecary in Terminator armor, complete with Reductor and Narithecium. I know they were an option for a specialized Ultramarines list from the 3rd Edition Chapter Approved era, if you took the master of the 1st Company; you could take a reductor, narithecium, signum, and servo-arm even though they didn't have an asteriks next to them in the armory. The fluff justification was that the special character could issue out ancient suits of armor from the time of the Heresy, which had been carefully passed down in the Ultrasmurfs' 1st Company. Anyway, I figure that a guy claiming to have been Horus' personal apothecary would at least have one of those ancient suits of Terminator armor with the full apothecary kit, even if its just for show and has no rules effect in a Chaos list. I'm also going to have to eventually give him a full Command Squad in pre-heresy Luna Wolves colors, to represent his personal retinue, with the Prime Helix banner- both in power armor and terminator armor- but that's another story. Another good place to look is any site about the Dark Angels as their Deathwing also had the rules for what you want - and maybe they can still have full Termi command squads. I'm going to be getting some GK termies to convert into Chosen Termies since I don't like the loadout from the standard Chaos Terminators box and I've already seen some really cool GK-based Chaos Termies. The biggie is the lack of power weapons in the regular CSM box- there's an axe and a mace, and I think that's it. Jofus Posted September 19, 2011 Share Posted September 19, 2011 While I haven't done a terminator techmarine, I have an Iron Warrior Lord and Aspiring Champion in terminator armor that I gave servo arms.
