Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Thanks guys ;) @Res Ipsa Loquitur As someone on my HoH thread pointed out, my figures have a 90's feel. I started collecting during 2nd ed in the 90's. And all that yellow was the style of the BA then, so to me thats how I like them :) @Abraxes The weathering is quit simple really. Using a large (tank) brush, I just wipe as much paint of as I can, then stiple and use a kind of dry brush technique, just not removing so much of the paint. Colours are Scorched brown > Gravyard Earth > Bleached Bone. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
March?? Really?? Really handn't realised it had been that long since I posted anything. Ok, well my laptop died a hard death a couple months ago. So some of these have been finished a while, just haven't been able to upload till now. First up; BA Tactical Squad led by Sergeant Daleal. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/567aa7c0.jpg Figures of note are these 2 converted from LotD figures. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/c33d1656.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/2ccfd560.jpg BA Assault Squad led by Sergeant Garibaldi. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/ce464831.jpg Figures of note. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/1938f1fa.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/33b8f36f.jpg The legs from these 2 guys are sharing a pair of BA DC legs and the Devs Crouching pair. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/8e6ad49d.jpg Currently I'm working on a Dev Squad. Cpt Codpiece
I love your force! TBH its how i want my emerging BA to look, coming from 2nd myself i love the red and yellow combo on the meltas and plasmas. your conversions are great, subtle reposes and small details are what make an army 'special'. your free hand is really an inspiration, i would be tempted to just print my stuff on decal paper and touch it up afterwards  and i love your landraider, i have one on my desk right now thats going through a similar conversion as yours did. its not quite a FW MKIIB but not quite a proteus neither :) one last thing............ the imperator titan plasma gun on the dread is great......... old school conversions FTW Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238965-ctks-ba-blog/page/2/#findComment-3140356 Share on other sites
Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Lol yeah, conversions of the good ole days! I made that about 2000/01. I can't decide if I want to keep it or not. But I've had a few peeps respond similar to yourself, so I may keep it as is. Thank you for the praise bud. I'll look out for your Angels. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Be my guest bud :tu: That pose actually has other applications too. When I get round to an Honour Guard, I intend to do a similar stance for the Standard Bearer. But instead, have him standing on rock/rubble/whatever. I think that'll look somewhat heroic. Ooh forgot to add... These to squads have the usual magnetty goodness. Heavy/Special Weapons, the Sergeants and the back packs on the Assaults. Plus the Rhino top platesarenot glued, so I can switch to Razors when I make some more turrets. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
New stuff: I present Blood Angel 2nd Co. 10th Squad (Devestators) led by Brother Sergeant Triam. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/ABB1AB53-F5F0-4E1B-A6F8-9AD5C629C87F-183-0000000B8318A4D8_zps4718b932.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/4868D3F4-0233-4C92-B1C2-89F86FA35CBB-183-0000000B56157575_zps2a4e6bd7.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BF3585A8-7F83-426C-8E53-65C2F99C353B-183-0000000B4B7B871D_zps5cfddb3d.jpg I figured that an all Missile Launcher Heavy Weapon Squad would by the most widely use loadout. Therefore, the entire squad are glued as is shown. no magnets this time. As I said earlier, I wanted to have the squad appear more like stand sentry or waiting for orders. I think I achieved this pretty well particularly with the Sergeant. Also as I only had 2 Missile ammo packs, I thought it would be cooler to have non Heavy Weapon squad members carry them. Also, I chose to have sensor on a separate base to make it clearer who has the higher BS that round. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/5062D96A-1F22-4A96-891C-96F56A63BDAD-183-0000000B8A07B7C5_zps86b9366e.jpg Their ride. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/785DBE30-0C8F-416A-B7E4-97591CAA2CA8-183-0000000B6633B311_zps560bff04.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/BACD1ED4-6B7F-40F2-A8E9-C106FE9D8025-183-0000000B5E9A3901_zps2af2ccb9.jpg Next up, I re-made Captain Aphael of the 2nd Co. I wasn't entirely happy with the pose of the first one, and I had also experimented with Quickshade on the first which I also was terribly thrilled with... So here be the new and improved Captain Aphael. I also modelled and magnetised several load out options to be several characters from the BA Codex. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Thanks for all the positive comments folks, very encouraging :tu: @ ianj253 Are you talking about the Assault Helms or Honour Guard? The Assault helms are: Chaos Black (Abbadon Black) > Iyanden Darksun (don't know new equivalent) > highlighted with Bleached Bone > light wash all over with Gryphonne Sepia. The Honour Guard helms are: Dheneb Stone base > 2x liberal washes of Gryphonne Sepia > Then a selective or detail layer of Delvin Mud (Agrax Earthshade) Its my attempt at NMM Gold > Then very lightly highlight with Bleached Bone. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Thanks for the comments guys :D @StJude: The red is base of Army Painter; Dragon Red spray (Alternatively, Black base followed by Mechrite Red) > Blood Red (not sure what the new paint is. I bought 4 tubs of Blood Red when I heard they where changing) > Blazing Orange highlight > Delvin Mud (Agrax Earthshade) wash > Then bring the Red back with Blood Red. Cardanis
One of the things I've always found frustrating about the marines that don't have knee pads, is keeping squad markings consistent. Basically, I'm super impressed by how you've solved that. How exactly did you make those kneepad addons? Cain Tiberius Kondrad
@StJude You're welcome bud :tu: @Cardanis I know exactly what you mean, it was frustrating me too. These are simply Green Stuff. Nothing fancy, just smoothed out with a scupting tool when applying the Green Stuff. Then once set, get the hard edges of the pad by cutting the excess putty off with a sharp craft knife. Hope this helps. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Hi folks :) Ok so this last couple weeks I've gone a little tank crazy. I have four new additions for your viewing pleasure. First up are two Vindicators. The first one was an eBay rescue. I'd already striped the paint best I could before this pic was taken. Unfortunately it didn't have any tracks, fortunately I had some IG tank tracks in my bits box (no idea why) and I was able to make them fit. I also had so of the old metal Vindicator parts. Add a couple choice pieces from eBay and some plasticard, and you have a MK1 Vindi :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/998ED84F-2A30-4D43-BB41-90C47411895E-4101-00000A71FE54EFA1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/738DA915-4AE5-4A27-8927-B7460908522D-4101-00000A71F3B920A2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/1CBB954C-81E5-48A7-A9F3-E6361D1D893B-4101-00000A6E45801C35.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/AF417445-2CC6-4DEF-B2EF-993032385E22-4101-00000A6E55E2C774.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/3293A8A2-6D47-4492-BBE7-C32873F460BD-4101-00000A6EBBBB629E.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/733DE372-55C5-4C1A-9F6F-65B78512D3C1-4101-00000A6EC563B553.jpg The second Vindi is a basic kit model. It was given to me by a friend, who had already painted it ages ago. But the paint was good enough that I didn't have to really clean it much. Before http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/A7E561B1-998F-4B49-84E8-2154F5985F57-4101-00000A7206CA2CC4.jpg After http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/05FFF8F7-6ECA-459A-BEF0-7F24A110437A-4101-00000A6ECB78AA09.jpg I also finally built and painted a Rhino chassis for the Whirlwind turret I made a while back. But it was just a kit. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/5DAFDDFE-8EF7-4876-AFD1-19D2894287AD-4101-00000A6F4C2A6149.jpg Here is a pic with all the artillery together. At some point in the future, I'll probably get round to doing a 3rd Vindi and 2 more Whirlwinds. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/820E9D55-1CF9-4EEC-B613-025A8603E052-4101-00000A6ED2804119.jpg The final new addition is a 3rd Baal Predator. This one is strait out of the box. I magnetised the weapon options but I'm not bothering with the regular predator options like my previous two. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/3180259B-E2BD-4D03-A6F9-046A51E9B813-4101-00000A6EB4E7A040.jpg And a pic of the three Predators together. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Khabjte/Blood%20Angels/D55FDDC1-D5BE-423C-AA35-E18B79522AFA-4101-00000A6EDD42150C.jpg For my next project there will be thunder in the air ;) Anywho comments and Crits welcome guys.
