Forge World pre-heresy armor model sizes?

Its hard to tell from the pictures posted on Forge World, but I'm trying to get a feel for how big the Mk.II and III armors actually are in comparison to the standard space marine models from GW. Height-wise, it seems like they might be a bit small...anybody have a good comparison picture, or at least some hands-on experience with them that can clear this up?

Thanks guys!

Dont know if this helps, I have a few of the different Mk's in here, the latter stuff has assault legs, all in all they are pretty comparable to your standard Space Marine.

Your use of the word 'latter' confuses me...

FW pre-heresy armors are fully compatible with plastic. I had the same doubts when I gave some of my sergeants MKIV legs. MKIV appears a touch slimmer than later models and I was afraid the sarges would look like a cartoon strongman (huge chest and arms and thin legs), but everything came together beautifully.

As in the "latter" models, or newer model mk's. if you look at the picture, you can several mk's and mixes of mk's. I was saying that on the latter, or newer mk's I used regular assault marine legs.

I can't help on the MKII front, but I do have MKIII and IV.

The MKIII are certainly bulkier than the MKVII

These are from my WIP Astral Claws.

Height-wise, comparing the standard 'at ease' pose legs (both GW & FW) they MKIII is only just taller (I'm refering to the helmet, not the backpack).

When using the walking/running legs, the MKIII is taller.

I can try and get more photos, including a MKIV comparison, or with FW's Armeneus Valthex, who is a MKIII hybrid armour.

Hope that was of use.

Ahh, I see. I was assuming it was the models themselves you were referring to.

And 'latter' is generally only supposed to be used if you have two items. :P

In the 41st Millenium, there is only short marines!

But seriously, is it me or does the Mk 8 marine look smaller than the rest?

Wider stance.

Anyway thanks everybody for the info, definitely sold me on picking some up just to sprinkle throughout my army for sergeants and veterans etc. Thanks!
