Clever Girl... - Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge

Oh Gods. Oh Gods. Oh Gods.

I love this guy so much, man. Really I do. He's the very picture of how I truly imagined Nihil. I must admit that at first, I wasn't the biggest fan of the face mask because it sort of seemed unfinished, but honestly, it's really grown on me. Now I have to remember adjust Nihil's model to look more like this!

The amount of detail Nihil has is incredible. I don't see an issue with the perspective of the right arm like others stated, but maybe as an added bonus pencil in some kind of warp fire / spell he's conjuring up. That way it would make it flow with the way the other arm is posed and the way the body is positioned. Other that that added nugget of an idea I think this guy really bad ass. Nice work with this one Greyall.

His right arm does seem a tad swollen around the elbow.  Also, the hand seems to be awkwardly angled inward while the wrist is front-facing the viewer.

My main beef is he ax.  It's an interesting design, but line art doesn't agree with a shape like that.  A few subtle shading hash marks would have helped I think.  You went through the trouble on the interior edge of he hood after all, and rightly so.

The cloth around his legs and waist strikes me as an odd place for negative space.  That was already going to be mostly blank page, anyway.  It adds an interesting parallel to the angle of the ax, but I think you may have actually been better off without it.  Not every marine needs some sort of flowing detail like fire or cloth in the wind ;)

I think my favorite detail is one that I didn't even notice for some time: the mutant eye over his shoulder.  That thing is repulsively Chaos.  The blending of muscle, sinew, teeth and armor across the board is well done, but that one detail, even smothered by a very concentrated area of detail (man, the things you could accomplish if you could color these), is my favorite.

With how complex some spaces in your drawings get, have you ever thought of having a laugh and sneaking in tiny bits of hidden, cheeky stuff?  I ask because at a second glance, I noticed the vial behind his athame, and for just a split second I thought he had a 12 sided die hanging from his belt. I was actually disappointed when I realized it wasn't one.

Ask and ye shall receive =)

Poom, mate, come get yours:

This is poom's Skull Champion:

It came out wellish, I think, a little more blingish, but I absolutely wanted to preserve the balance between the rawness of the WE and his status that Poom nailed spot-on.

Hope you like it, mates, now on to finish the current one.

Hahahahaa!

Mashed Terminator.  Awesome.

Some slightly confused perspective with the mace versus the character, but it's a step in the right direction.  The angles of the maul's spikes are a bit more awkward. The crinkled talons are kind weird.  There's no visible explanation for them in the pic, like some shallow gouges on the Champion's armor or something.  The most forward skull on his pauldron, the one with the cables coming out of the aw, looks really odd.  It looks flat like a decal or crest, but everything else around it is three dimensional.

That's all I got.  Keep up the good work :tu:
