Best thread on this entire website. I don't normally bother to congratulate people on their work, it is generally average at best and when good is still hardly worth the time to comment on but this, this is beautiful, creative, and precise in all the sculpting lines and surfaces. Please keep up the fantastic work.

Regards,

Crynn

Crynn - "I don't normally bother to congratulate people on their work, it is generally average at best and when good is still hardly worth the time to comment on..."

Umm...get over yourself?

Doghouse - Cool thread. You've done a fantastic job with these guys, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them painted up. Kinda makes me want to drop the army I'm working on and start up a small inquisition force.

PS. Where did the head on that first bounty hunter come from?

Thanks guys! :D

Crynn: There will definitely be loads more to come, I'm playing around with an admech contingent at the moment to go with these guys and a psychic choir that will hopefully be accompanying an astropath as his personal retinue. I appreciate the compliment. :)

Reed: I think that with the GK Henchmen/INQ28 rules I've found a little niche that I can really sink my teeth into as although they are hidden away in the GK codex they do allow you to really let go and make some of the more wonderful characters of the 40k universe that you might not normally consider making.

The head is from the WFB Great swords sprues, there's a couple on there that would be great for this kind of project.

I'm now nearing the point where the first few guys will be ready for my final selection process for the INQ28 warband. I'm going to have to play around a little bit with the background material a little to get them to gel a bit better but it shouldn't be too hard.

Will any luck I'll update later today.

Never post too many replies in your threads, here or otherwise, as I never have anything useful besides a lot of praise, but here I have to ask what your Serrano is meant to be? A marine out of armour, a giant, genetic experiment or what?

Reason I'm asking is because I just stumbled on an old WD detailing the origins of the cursed foundings and the excavation of part of that project, Homo Sapiens Novus, on Incunabla, and this all got me seeing possible connections between that particular project and your BFGuy...

Pulse: Yeah I thought it might be something a little different and give me a chance to dig deep into the universe lore.

Brother Pheidias: Thanks mate. :pirate:

Serrano is one of two possibilities at the moment but I still need to nail him down as something that works as a concept. First idea is that he is basically a body builder of the literal sense in that he has kept augmenting himself to the point where he verges on Astarte-hood so he can be a better weapon of the Inquisition.

The other idea I had was that he was a former member of the Death Watch and has sustained terrible injuries fighting bigger and badder Xenos that mean he can no-longer link to a full suit of power armour. His plan was to return to his chapter but it was destroyed so he was given a proper role with the Inquisition.

I know the article you mean, the Homo Sapiens Novus idea might be a pretty cool idea to throw in the hat actually, hadn't considered that one so thanks for that. :)

Wasn't there something like that in one of the HH novels? I think it had Dorn in it having an arguement with one of the psykers leading a choir.

I can't remember the name of the book though. :tu:

Bit of an update.

Rogue Trader Edron Kerr.

Here is the WIP RT. The idea that I'm running with is that Tavera and Kerr, as war orphans of noble families, were raised by the Schola Progenium where they eventually became part of the elite Storm trooper regiment. Tavera went on to briefly become a Commissar before being recruited as an Explicator in the service of an Inquisitor Lord before working his way up through the ranks to become an Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus.

Kerr on the other hand stayed with the Storm Troopers, becoming a high ranking officer before being commissioned as a Rogue Trader at his own request. The idea being that Kerr has come to assist his old friend with the matter of the Succession.

Still needs a bucket load of work yet but I've added a gemstone to his left vambrace as the officers in the original Imperial Navy concepts by Jes Goodwin had a directional power field for dueling purposes.

Here is the original model that I made several years ago for this type of character, dug him out of my bits box but never really got around to finishing him.

Is that a Forge World DKoK tank commander commissar with a head swap and legs?

*Edit*

Indeed it is. I bought one of those a few years ago with just such a conversion in mind. Glad to know it would have worked. :)

Sadly, I have given up on the idea of a Guard army and have decided to sell off all the stuff I've collected, but that figure works nicely for what you have going here.

Wow very inspirational every model is full of 40k character, good work as always every project you start is awesome Doghouse

My favourite model of the last batch is the pit figther it reminds me one character in the necromunda book Bull Gorg if i remember correctly.

Cheers guys! :P

Brother Chaplain Kage: Yeah the FW commissar conversion works quite well and is quite simple to do with the IG tank sprue legs. I may have to rework him so that I can turn him into some sort of NPC character model.

Mr Malevolent: I think it's one of those conversions that would work really well an IG colonel or even a Creed proxy. The beauty of the model is that I can use him as a RT, Imperial Governor, Fleet Admiral, Inquisitor, etc, because he is fairly generic. I was a little reluctant at first to buy the Creed model but glad that I did now as even unconverted it is a great mini in finecast.

I may get another one at some point and put together a small navy force.

alejandrinus: Yeah that sounds familiar to me as well, you could be right there mate.

Got a few more updates coming so hopefully I'll chuck them up later today.

Cheers guys!

The white uniform originally started out as grey but the white does seem to work better as a lot of people have noted it makes him look a bit more dapper.

Pulse: It's only been five days since I last posted you cheeky git! Work has been mental of late and due to having a bad cold at the same time I'm completely exhausted at the mo. I do have two crewmen made to go with the stretched Storm Raven and have started painting the Inquisitor, I'll get some shots up when I get the chance. ;)

Hahaha get a move on old man. ;)

See I just assumed Skyrim when you didn't post for a while ^^

Looking forward to the update, I've been following this from the beginning and it makes me want to spend a lot of money on Finecast that I need for food and stuff like that...
