Imperial Fists WIP Thread

Cheers guys, hopefully I'll get some pics in decent light of the whole group soon!

Fyi, the recipe I'm using is:

Basecoat Army Painter Deamonic Yellow

Wash Gryphonne Sepia

Layer Sunburst Yellow

Edge highlights 50:50 Sunburst Yellow:Skull White

Final highlight Skull White

Very quick, I'd recommend it to anyone thinking about Imperial Fists.

Hi Red,

I think that might be largely down to my sh*tty cameraphone! The yellow is actually quite vibrant, I'll try to get a pic with my SLR as that will give a truer reflection of the colour.

That, and the yellow hasn't been highlighted yet, I'm just trying to build up a nice flat colour atm.

Some times it is good to have elements of warm and cool colours on a mini the same as using contrasting colours. the yellow you have for the main colour seems to be quite a cool yellow so the bronze is a nice contrast due to its warmth, like you say some verdigri would add yet another element of depth to the mini the colour is natural alongside the bronze and adds contrast to the armour. If you decide to do this you could also think about using some very thin glazes of the verdigri mix to add depth to the yellow armour in the shade areas just remember to add some Vallejo glaze medium to your mix.
