Brother Benedictus
I have the pieces...but I was wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge on how to put these together...fore sure some pinning and whatnot has to happen...but I want to figure out how to put it all together...if anyone has any ideas on how to do this I would really appreciate it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242322-putting-st-celestines-cape-on-an-emperors-champ/ Share on other sites
Terminatorinhell
I would just put a pin in the backpack socket and put it through the cape, is one finecast or are the both metal? I would also weigh the base with a coin if the cape makes him tip over Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242322-putting-st-celestines-cape-on-an-emperors-champ/#findComment-2929582 Share on other sites
Brother Benedictus
both are metal...that's what I was thinking too...since the halo and cape are seperate just clip it all down and pin it together and greenstuff it all into a nice package Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242322-putting-st-celestines-cape-on-an-emperors-champ/#findComment-2929589 Share on other sites
Brother Benedictus
but if anyone still has a first hand way of how this was done I would love to know =) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242322-putting-st-celestines-cape-on-an-emperors-champ/#findComment-2929626 Share on other sites
Warsmith Aznable
I have mine together with superglue right now, maybe will add some greenstuff later (I didn't think to do that). Â What specifically are you wanting to know about it? Brother Benedictus
Just how was it mounted...did you cut the bumps off the halo and the back of the emperors champ to put it on? or just drilled a hole in the back of the EC and cut the bump of and put it on that way? Hemal
either way works but I would certainly pin it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242322-putting-st-celestines-cape-on-an-emperors-champ/#findComment-2929779 Share on other sites
Warsmith Aznable
I didn't cut any of the bumps off since I didn't pin it. There really isn't a lot of leverage on the pieces and they aren't particularly heavy, so I figured that the glue would hold it unless I dropped it. The glue is strong enough that I'm not worried about normal handling, but I'm not going to say that this is the best thing to have done. Â EDIT: I just realized you weren't putting Celestine together, but putting a piece of Celestine on a different model. Sorry about that; I was very tired last night when I first saw this thread... Lorenzen
as far as the cape goes i did this a while back and tbh i just superglued it to a space marine backpack then glued that to the model.. wasnt the best method in the world but it worked.. pinning it would have made it more sturdy but imho it would require being pinned through the backpack and to the actual model itself. Brother Benedictus
I cut the bump off the back of the champion and drilled a hole just above where it used to be and stuck a pin in it...covered up the hole so I can prime the champion without spoiling the hole and covered up the bump on the halo piece also the cape and halo are pinned together now....so nothing should bother that...got the lining of the cape done now...need some dullcoat to take away the shine from the mechrite red in the creases...but when I'm finished the cape I'll post a picture Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242322-putting-st-celestines-cape-on-an-emperors-champ/#findComment-2930172 Share on other sites
Hemal
surprised mechrite red came out shiny - did you stir the paint? Find that foundation paints dry absolutely flat IF stirred properly..
