the damned artificer
Thanks for the replies guys ^_^ And I'll consider doing a tutorial for the yellow if there's an interest for it :) Here's a few pics of the first finished models, making it start to look like an army :) Sadly there was terrible lighting conditions for good photography with windows on all sides of the room, so the quality isn't great but the feeling of the pictures still remain :) http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/DSCN2663copy.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/WP_000201copy2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/WP_000202.jpg

the damned artificer
Thanks Ludovic :P I had a great visit from a good friend the othr day, SDKFZ took his motorcycle out for a spin and ended in sunny Denmark and he brought company for my IF's :D http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Random/SDKFZvisits6.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Random/SDKFZvisits2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Random/SDKFZvisits1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Random/SDKFZvisits3.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Random/SDKFZvisits4.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Random/SDKFZvisits5.jpg The models are great, and the leviathan honestly nearly didn't make it back to Sweden as I was very tempted to David Copperfield'ing it XD I also got some awesome bits, mainly for iron warriors, but they will make an appearance in my IW thread at some point, but I also got some pretty sweet plastic bits from Japan :chrome: Thanks again mate :D For those of you not familiar with SDKFZ's work go check out his awesome stuff, especially his reaver titan which is amazing Check his threads out here
the damned artificer
Update time: A better picture of the tartaros terminators: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/tartarostermiesdone.jpg And then painting is progressing on the Land Speeder: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/LSwip1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/LSwip2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/LSwip3.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/LSwip4.jpg The tail number and diamonds icon are meant to be squadron number and insignia as I really like the iconic look of playing card logos, and I intend to incorporate them into the fluff like i did the ace of spades  I try to differ from using company markings as I like the idea that the army, under Rogal Dorn or the first captains command, is comprised of units from the entire legion, and not just one company and that vehicles in general doesn't display specific company markings as they are all part of the legions arsenal. But that may of course change along the way if it turns out to be too hard to keep track of :) The laurel on the nose is from the old 2nd ed devastator marines transfer sheet and I thought it looked awesome and could easily act to denote the speeder as being assigned to the first company for now :)

Lachdannan
That Land Speeder is coming along well. Must be a lot easier to paint than the metal ones. They really were a pain on the wrist!
the damned artificer
Thanks for the comments guys :) Here's a little group shot of the finished, and almost finished stuff for the army. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/IFgroupshot_zps1ddef47b.jpg Forge World is hell bent on ruining my economy... Lachdannan
Awesome army shot. I know what you mean by Forge World. Seeing these guys makes me want to paint my languishing MKVI tactical squad. So many projects to do....
Kismet
First of all, what you did there was really inspiering. Great work mate! After seeing this I finally decided to start my owne Death Guard army. What I would really like to know is, where didthe torso of this guy come from? I cant find it on any Forgeworld model. And more importantly, how did you reposition the legs so that the marine would stand more uprigth? http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/DSCN2127copy.jpg Thx again and keep up the good work :)
the damned artificer
Thanks guys :) Kismet@ That torso (and legs, they're one piece) are from the rapier laser destroyer kit and is the gunner. his feet are like that when you get them :) But if you wait a few weeks/moths FW have revised their armour kits and the new version of the MK III will have a torso like this, and one like the other crew member from the rapier. And there'll also be new legs :)
Kismet
Thx for the reply :( I think the rapier laser crew was the only Forgeworld models I didn`t check for theyr armour. Silly me ;) And thank you for the info about the new MKIII models. I knew that they did something with the MKIV, but that they would also redoe the MKIII`s was new to me. I hope they redo the legs so that the marine stand morer uprigth or are running. I really can`t stand this squatting GW marine poses.

the damned artificer
Thanks a lot guys  I just ordered the new book today and a heap of tanks so hopefully there'll be a major update for these soon! Thx for the reply :) I think the rapier laser crew was the only Forgeworld models I didn`t check for theyr armour. Any time ;) They have indeed redone the legs as well, on both the mk II and III kits :P And no, it gets tiresome with the super squat cliché marines, so it's a huge improvement that they've updated the kits :)

the damned artificer
Quick update, since FW have decided to make a set of Catapractii terminators I have chosen to upgrade my own to Huscarls and will have to work out some fluff for why their armour looks different than regular Cataphractii terminator armour  Here's some pics, first picture is my newly named sergeant Montana :P http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/sgtmontana.jpg Then the Huscarls in artificed Cataphract suits as befitting for Dorns personal guard. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/DSC04330copy.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/DSC04340copy.jpg And a size comarison with one of the new FW termies (which I payed a small fortune for, but I just couldn't wait) he will have a few squads of buddies at some point in the future when I can afford more FW goodies. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/DSC04327copy.jpg A new picture of Dorn with a small bit of progress on the detailing. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/DSC04334copy.jpg And a picture of a veteran I'm working on for a very special purpose. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/DSC04311copy.jpg That's it for this time ;)
Tyrannicide
Lovely progress on Dorn. I'm really intrigued by that painted Veteran. The face has been rendered very true to life.
