Finecast question

Right, finally think I'm going to bite the bullet as regards this Finecast malarkey.

But before I do, my question is as above: before painting anything from Forge World, the accepted thing is to wash it in warm soapy water to remove the mould release agents - ought I to do the same thing with Finecast as well or is it okay as is?

You should definitely wash the model off. In fact, washing off parts before assembly is good practice with pretty much any medium - mold release agents are often used for plastic models, too. Not sure if there's any mold release used on metal models, but washing them off certainly wouldn't hurt anything.

washing is a good idea,

when I basecoated a model and didn't wash it, I found that paint didn't stick on some parts and (lets see if I can translate this proper ) seemed to "shrink" in small puddles or islands on the moddel.

This can happen if the surface tensions isn't good as far as I know. Like greasy or those mold release agents.

Since then I never paint a new model straight away.
