But before I do, my question is as above: before painting anything from Forge World, the accepted thing is to wash it in warm soapy water to remove the mould release agents - ought I to do the same thing with Finecast as well or is it okay as is? In fact, washing off parts before assembly is good practice with pretty much any medium - mold release agents are often used for plastic models, too. Jaigo Posted January 25, 2012 Share Posted January 25, 2012 washing is a good idea, when I basecoated a model and didn't wash it, I found that paint didn't stick on some parts and (lets see if I can translate this proper ) seemed to "shrink" in small puddles or islands on the moddel. This can happen if the surface tensions isn't good as far as I know. Like greasy or those mold release agents. Since then I never paint a new model straight away.
