Overdrive
A little progress: http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120227_134320.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120227_134338.jpg I haven't been able to find anything about gorechild having two lines of teeth. Even with the size of my version two lines of teeth would have been hard to fit. Cheers. Captain Juan Juarez
I don't know about Gorechild, but more "modern" chainswords supposedly have a second set of teeth that can be brought into use when fighting an armoured foe. Overdrive
Just seen this. Really great work, you've done a fantastic job of scaling him up. Some of the highest praise, you were one of the early pioneers on Tru-scaling that got me interested in it, so it means a lot. The armour is essentially done. I'll do some finally hi-lights once the rest of the model is finished. The style is a bit different but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120228_142123-1.jpg Here is a shot of the progress on the legs to give an idea of the layering: http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/ArmorProgression.jpg Cheers. Natanael
I dont know. The armour looks like pre heresy/heresy era death guard to me. I'll have to wait and see the finished product. - Nat Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/247634-kharn/page/2/#findComment-3003698 Share on other sites
Overdrive
Finished the arm and shoulderpad: http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/FinishedArmShoulder.png I'll get some better pictures when the whole model is complete. Sceadwe
Wow. Wow. Wow. Did I say wow? I love the pose, I'm imagining the finished model having a spray of gore arcing from Gorechild. Whirr, Crunch, Splatter. Quick question, I've always wondered how to use chain like this, do you use super glue to stiffen it or some other trick? Overdrive
Sceadwe: I use superglue to harden the chain. You loose some degree of detail, but it dries quick and lets you arrange the chain how you want it without too much trouble. Batu: The armor is a combination of Khaki, Gryphonne Sepia wash and white in various layers Current progress: http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120302_200736.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120304_145345.jpg Still have to paint Gorechild, finish the vent on the chest and a few other little details. Then figure out what I'm going to do about weathering/battle damage and a base. Kierdale
He's looking great! The painting is excellent. The flesh tones in particular, and I'm looking forward to seeing how his armour turns out. MordentHex
I know its probably a bit to late to mention this but his arm seems to be to long. shortening it a little at the forearm would make the arm look more natural instead of a gorilla arm. Redemption2994
Incredible. Both Khorne and Angron would be proud. I especially love the enlarged Gorechild. Beautiful work good sir. Grizzly_bear
Fantastic painting, I've been toying the idea of making a squad from each of the pre heresy legions for a while, think you might of edged that on. Overdrive
I started a new project now that Khârn is nearing completion. I'm trying to base it size wise off the Khârn I've built. http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120305_113710.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120305_113732.jpg Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/247634-kharn/page/2/#findComment-3007992 Share on other sites
Overdrive
I'm putting him on the shelf for now. I've never been great at freehand and I always worry I'll over do something and ruin a good paintjob. Here's a couple shots as he'll stand for now: http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120306_194212.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120306_194755.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120306_194807.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120306_194819.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk213/x2005eig/20120306_194846.jpg Stay tuned for my terminator project! blackbabyjesus
pretty epic dude! the arm is still 'off' but that can't really be helped, and the rest of the model more than makes up for it! Montuhotep
Don't change anything on him, he's superb! Never figured Khârn would waste much effort on decorations, anyway. More bling = less kill time, never going to happen. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/247634-kharn/page/2/#findComment-3009309 Share on other sites

Midnightmare
Now THAT is Khârn. Love the white, very gritty looking and excellent skin tone. Maybe add some blood? I'm a sucker for blood on the right mini and can't be more right than Khârn lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/247634-kharn/page/2/#findComment-3009457 Share on other sites
