I have a reasonably large stockpile of Imperial ships which I have been accumulating for the local group to save them paying Ebay prices, welcome to flick me a PM with what you are hunting down if you like, although admittadly for just a couple of cruisers the International postage might be a killer, but eBay prices can be pretty crazy.

Those Helian-thingys look very nice. I must say...very nice indeed!

Anyhow, I have painted up the very last of my Imperial Navy Dauntless-class light cruisers, bringing the total to 4. Two of each variant can now be fielded :-D

I have zero idea, as to how they will perform on the battlefield - I feel more confident about the lance variant, than the torpedo variant...

Hail!

So - a little bit of painting has seen this bad boy come off the drydock, ready to bring weapon battery justice to the Imperial lapdogs! A Chaos fleet Iconoclast-class destroyer!

the Astartes element of my BFG fleet has been completed:

The Nicor and the other one off ship is a counts as Night Hag, both from Imperial Armour: Badab War

Or in games which those ships are not permitted, just a Venerable Battlebarge using the Grand Cruiser profiles. My Imperial Navy contingent will be using the Helios Cruisers as Grand Cruisers as well.

It's the expensive hulks that impress me the most.

Someone commented on another thread about that as well, the way I look at it is that most of your cruisers will at one time or another get Hulked, especially in Campaigns, and the Hulk often plays just an important role during the game as a live ship. It becomes the focus of salvage and can also drift into a pack of enemy ships and explode, so often there is a bit of focus on the model. Having a nice looking Hulked ship (I find) adds a lot to the games atmosphere.

Plus the Helios range is pure awesome and I was very keen to have a before and after model of the Fleets flagship

Both Dauntless variants are good ships and well worth their points imho, back when I played (read: back when my fleet minis were intact, rip) they were a mainstay, I never made a list without a pair of at least one variety. Which one you go for depends a little on what you favour in the rest of your fleet, of course, but definitely try them out if you get a chance. I always favoured the lance variant because I liked lances slightly more than was reasonable, but on reflection, I think the torpedo dauntless was more often a decisive factor in winning battles. It's a nasty armament for a ship that fast.

Dono1979: that's an insane collection. Congrats on that!

By the way, looking for blast markers:

Did you see this by the way: http://www.okb-14.com/modellegion/support-cruiser/

The giant ship? I doubt it, it would probably be way too expensive. I hope that he'll cast them, kinda like what he did with the blast markers.

In the meantime, Battlegroup Helios just released their Helian Corvettes: http://www.battlegrouphelios.com/index.php/9-helian/13-helian-escort-corvette

And I've been working on some new transportships.
