Hmmmm

Plasma pistol? Bolter Pistol?

Hmmmmm

(searching for a chaplain)

Nah, seriously: awesome looking models...keep it up!

I admit nothing.

That's fine...spilling it just because we ask would take away the fun of it :)

Sigh...I really want the next 10 dyas to go by...and starting my vow!

Yes, do Consecrators - the best part about no background, is that you can make it up. For instance, I mentioned this before, but I came to the conclusion that the Consecrators might rely more heavily on techmarines considering the relics they need to take care of. That's just me... of course we might see more of them in the new dex.

Yes, One or two sentences more would be enough to add to the bakground without taking away the mystery...

Semper is a FW nut - I love those Contemptors.

:) I just think it's suitable for the Consecrators to have older style stuff. When I started this project it was mainly on inspiration form EPKs fantastic stuff and to lesser degree because the Contemptor was just released... My Disciples of Caliban are all standard GW and I regret I did not add a lot of Mk8! :)

I went with the traditional beakies as my majority, but the dex leaves it open-ended - saying they just bare the chapter's oldest relics (though the only two depictions in the dex have them in Mark VI Corvus armor).

That's probably because at the time it was the oldest type of armour that was made by GW. Those were the days before the plastic Mk4 that was released with the BAs... (not a big fan personally).

The Flail-anator is fantastic! You matched the movement of the body and the movement of the flail - and all these on a converted Space Hulk BA termie!!! The power effect is also top notch! If you didn't already have an amazing Belial - this would be a good candidate!

Just a question: the bare head of the two pistols guy (two pistols eh? hmmm...) where is it from?

That's what I was thinking. I'm considering getting Mk II or IV for a 5 man consecrators expansion (Mk III feels the oldest, so it might be a nice contrast) - I really wish FW did a variety pack. I'd love to get a mixed set of Mk II, IV and/or V. I prefer mixed armor in squads.

Thanks! I think if I want to start using Belial with TH/SS, I could always sub this fella in - he's certainly unique enough. Of course, who knows what the next dex will bring, I have a feeling some of my TH/SS guys might become obsolete (like the Apoth or banner bearer with TH/SS).

It's a Space Wolf head (my friend plays them)... sssh, don't tell.

I actually just went with "Lion" (why did I forget "the"? I dunno)... but it doesn't show so well on the metallic. At first I used my micron pen (which I use for all the purity seal work) and then I tried to paint it on. I might turn my attention back to it later - for now it looks like something is scrawled there, just not as well as I would like. I do have have the FW decal sheet - maybe I'll take a look at that and see what I can use, if anything.
Very nice Deathwing and Consecrators, EPK :cuss What have you got planned now? Finishing the DW?

Ludovic

That was original plan, but I'm now turning my attention to a Land Speeder Typhoon for my vow. And actually, here is the pre-paint entry shot. It was salvaged from a friend, not in the best condition. Upgrading it with some DA bits - also had to fill a lot of gaps in the front.

The Flailinator looks awesome, i love the sense of motion you've managed to capture in him. As for the lightning coming from the flail head, if you don't mind a suggestion, if you really felt like going off of the deep end how about having short pieces of crooked wire coming from the headpiece and painted to look like lightning arcing from it, like so:

Let the good times roll! Good luck with it EPK - speeders for me are always laborious projects... :)

Thanks... but I thought the Master of Recruits would sound more encouraging than that :P I've never painted one before, but I thought it might be easy considering it's going to be mostly black. I'm going to use my Consecrators recipe - I like the raven-esque black outcome.

@Stobz - Thanks man! Will do.

@Dragon Claw - Thanks. That would be pretty awesome if executed properly... but perhaps I'll just continue to wade in the shallows for now.

Really? Not painted one before? Well it's not the painting that is the problem but the putting together... regardless by using your super technique on blue-black there is no going wrong there... Good luck mate! ;)

EPK, Belial is -ing awesome! It’s amazing everything you did with that model, all the little details are fantastic. The lightning claws are sweet, the blue/yellow wiring is great, and I LOVE the idea of the hazard striping on the cable enclosures themselves! That’s a wonderful concept and is so much better and easier than trying to paint them directly onto exposed wires themselves, and as long as you don’t mind, I’d really, really like to snag that for some of my next Terminator models.

All the little bits make it such a great sight to behold!

As far as the Terminator head on the PA body, personally, I’d say no. There are some much better fitting GK PA heads that would work for you much better. The head definitely seems oversized to me, and while great helms on knights were often out of proportion to the wearers, I just think that PA seems to “fit” into itself so much better without the oversized helm. For the weapon, I’d consider what you are trying to illustrate, if it’s a company master more interested in combat, I’d use the two-handed sword, if he’s a more command oriented guy, I’d use the pointing finger, because it looks more like he’s actually commanding.

The Consecrators still look great as well.

The Flail-inator is also fantastic! The power flail turned out so well, the only thing I think I might say that could improve it is if you really wanted to, add the lightning effect coming out of a couple of the holes (I’d suggest painting a couple of those with the brightest color first, then around the inner rim of the hole with the next darker color).

Good luck rolling on the Typhoon, can’t wait to see how you finish it up. Very nice on the gap filling!

Thanks Bryan!

Feel free to use any technique you want. I can't even take credit for the yellow striped power cables. I first saw Dezartfox use them with his gritty Deathwing and have been painting them on my own Deathwing since.

Good point on the GK Terminator helm - feedback like that is exactly why I brought it here for a consensus.

On the flail, that was actually my thought but I guess it didn't come out as planned. Maybe just a touch of bright white on the bottom of a few holes would help.

That Typhoon was pretty beat up, whoever put it together (it was passed between my gaming friends) had a hell of a time with it - I believe Semper that they can be challenging to put together. Any imperfections in the gap filling will probably just be disguised as battle damage.
