A tale of 17 gamers

Recommended Posts

I've trawled through my bitz box, which is a vast hive of spikes, horned helmets, and eight-pointed stars.

However, I found this:

The Minotaurs aren't exactly noted for their use of Scouts (seeing as they accelerate training to produce Marines quicker than most), but as I'm a huge fan of Scouts, I'll see how that goes.

As soon as my royalties clear this month, I'll get a Forge World order on the go, for transfers and shoulder pads. I probably won't end up using the named Minotaur character in IA10, but rather my own Captain getting thrown into the mix. I'm all kinds of on board, if we're also doing fluff for army lists, characters, squad choices, or whatever.

The pretty generous time frame coupled with the small numbers of models makes this possible for me, so thanks again to Dirge Caster for the initiative.

You 'found' them? Were they perhaps located on the nearest GW shelf? ;)

I've got no issues with him starting the Tiger Claws at all, by the way.

I think I'm definitely going to have Culln and Loth, simply because I love the models. Beyond that, I have no clue currently, but I'll try and come up with something tonight.

Thats some bits box you must have if you found unused boxes in there.

Well if im able to have the tiger claws then Ill get started on that order tonight. Was considering using the space wolves box for the pelts and such (tiger pelts) its just I aint sure if that is a theme they used or not.

Edit: Actually, after looking through the space wolves sprues on the GW site, I think there may not be enough 'normal' parts in it, runes and wolf icons may be in abundance

There aren't too many pelts in there. I'd say Green Stuffing it is your best bet. It's relatively easy to make nice looking fur.

Enaek, unfortunately, I only have one conversion link for him specifically. It's in Ebay, so I'll PM you the link.

Kaeyatus, no one seems to be against it, so I'd say go for it.

I've found a possible scheme based off my Wolf scheme, and have been trying to get it to work. It keeps coming out too bright or too dark, though. I think I'm closing in on it, though. Meanwhile, I'm probably going to use the siege assault list as my basis.

To be honest, I'm in a similar situation. I have boxes of Rhino's and Razorbacks and marines that are still shrink wrapped in boxes. I just hoard, and refuse to assemble too much, as I'm sick of my 'grey' armies. Though ironically I'm now painting a grey army. Go figure....

I think he said end of month, and any five models.

This month as in april as in 3 days to the end of the month?

great now I have to dug out the cave to find my stuff.

To clarify - the original post states: Last day of May

I don't want to impose too many rules and restrictions but I would ask that the first squad of 5 marines be completed by the last day of May. If you like the idea then let me know which chapter you would like to build.

Let's go.

I feel bad for those who can't join in, why be so exclusive? Why not change it to a Tale of Badab gamers and allow any one who wants in to join us?

That would be a really good idea, and with the 5 model goal per month, I think there is far, far more support here than just the 17 gamers.

A Tale of Badab Gamers should be re-thought and made a little more open, rather than the current 17 participants. With 6th around the corner, and all the FW goodies, this initiative could really get the community out in force.

I prefer the teamwork and structure of a more personal project, between a small number of folks (including the selection of Chapters that make them personally 'yours' in the project) but if it's becoming just a standard Badab LPC, that'd be cool for different reasons. I suspect several of the original 17 might change Chapters, but that's no problem if everyone's free to do any force.

I'm good, either way. Down to Dirge Caster, I s'pose.

Thanks for the link, Chapter Master!

Mmm, last day of May you say? Well that means if I factor in my payday today and any 18th b'day money I'll be getting tomorrow, I might just be able to throw some devastators together in 33 days...

Just to clarify, the Desert Support Squads that the Sons of Medusa used to have used heavy bolters, right? I won't be doing them in that scheme, I just thought they'd probably still use the same weapons. Thanks in advance!
