ImperialTemplari
Hi guys, this still needs a lot of work, but the basic shape is coming together, it will be the master for a mould, this is the start of my 15mm Death korps of Krieg army, it has twin heavy bolters on each side, but thats only for looks and will only count as one, I might put a storage bin on the rear of the turret, the figure is only for scale, and is not the figure I will use for the IG conversions, what do you think? More Picts on my blog. link http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xxSgA2jIQRA/UYY32B2GbkI/AAAAAAAAHK0/lpHMqANWdhw/s1600/IMGP0384.JPGpicture[/img] Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251839-15mm-40k-project/page/4/#findComment-3364510 Share on other sites
ImperialTemplari
Hi guys, here are my first 15mm Death Korps of Krieg conversions, i have also started on some auto cannons, for this army I will be using various WWI Germans and French, with head swaps from Peter Pig, and these Heer light troops from Trench 2114, these are almost perfect, except they only come in 5 poses, so I don't think I will get anymore, I will convert the rest of the army (which i plan on being quite large) this army will also have Armour, cavalry, artillery, Naval marines, and air support, all commits welcome, more pics on my blog. link http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-en3M47W0Yko/UYxFBVJZM-I/AAAAAAAAHLE/D01WzIANqbw/s1600/IMGP0385.JPGpicture[/img] http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dWJv0ZkEzOE/UYxFEXtMymI/AAAAAAAAHLs/e2zN4VpH5uo/s1600/IMGP0390.JPGpicture[/img] Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251839-15mm-40k-project/page/4/#findComment-3367958 Share on other sites
ImperialTemplari
Hi guys, seems I'm wasting my time on this site, see how I go after this post, then may just let it die, here is a WIP veteran grenadier squad, these guys still have a bit of work to go, but they are coming along nicely, I'm thinking I will add a canister to the front of the gas mask, I wanted a squad that would stand out, so gave them bearskins to denote their elite status, can't wait to finish and paint these guys, heaps more Picts on my blog, all comments welcome. link http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Rao1xovzSbU/UY2QZvj_z0I/AAAAAAAAHMs/eUIOq9h7tkk/s1600/IMGP0398.JPGpicture[/img] http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HO_ScFCZ-jE/UY2QeNeiZZI/AAAAAAAAHNc/eYXZb8cm87Y/s1600/IMGP0404.JPGpicture[/img] http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UWXMdPwt-Cc/UY2QXdHj_BI/AAAAAAAAHMQ/HFLz8eQe-jM/s1600/IMGP0394.JPGpicture[/img] Edited May 11, 2013 by ImperialTemplari Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251839-15mm-40k-project/page/4/#findComment-3368686 Share on other sites
smallvictory
This project is flippin awsome! Converting larger models is hard enough, the quality you've acheived at this scale is rediculous. ImperialTemplari
Hi guys, this veteran Grenadier squad is ready for paint, not sure about these bases, tried a new batch of sand, it looks a little to coarse for my liking, now back to working on my rough riders, all comments welcome. link http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oFMEh-ev9cQ/UZCIDc4t5VI/AAAAAAAAHOs/c5P7kmkLxow/s1600/IMGP0411.JPGpicture[/img] http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-88Vbg-BYSgQ/UZCIEmWHfMI/AAAAAAAAHO4/aQon4BF9Oqc/s1600/IMGP0412.JPGpicture[/img] http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kLHnuoZ7g5A/UZCIImUMT8I/AAAAAAAAHPk/Pw7Uwf-JYcs/s1600/IMGP0419.JPGpicture[/img] Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251839-15mm-40k-project/page/4/#findComment-3369929 Share on other sites

ImperialTemplari
Hi guys, the first squad of my 15mm DKoK army is done, I'm really happy with how these guys turned out, I'm undecided whether I should paint any numbers/markings on the shoulder armour, the dark red regimental facing colour on the turn backs/cuffs of the great coats will be duplicated on other squads and flags, this is the pallet of colours I will use for the army, except the Naval marines I plan on doing, I will substitute the fieldgrey with blue, and will give them sailors caps, the rest of the grunts will have picklehelms, lots more pics on my blog, all comments welcome. link http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SS3fXjpggRA/UZHAMjuD3hI/AAAAAAAAHQU/9A2OSz_RYkw/s1600/IMGP0421.JPGpicture[/img] http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aV1WYUkbJKo/UZHAMfbTQQI/AAAAAAAAHQQ/Jap1Yz9qM0E/s1600/IMGP0423.JPGpicture[/img] http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tLHzWxKiH1E/UZHARXozBHI/AAAAAAAAHRM/5kkNhenVSeA/s1600/IMGP0429.JPGpicture[/img] http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BXW5oBnBYB4/UZHAVBuQ2KI/AAAAAAAAHR4/2jZLVYi5LZo/s1600/IMGP0435.JPGpicture[/img] Edited May 14, 2013 by ImperialTemplari Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251839-15mm-40k-project/page/4/#findComment-3370699 Share on other sites
ImperialTemplari
Hi guys, sorry about the crap pics, here are my WIP Death Riders, the original figures were Napoleonic Wurtembergers, I wanted them to have czapkas (hats) so gave them head swaps with some surplus Polish infantry, the lances without fanions will have paper fanions added, any ideas on how to paint the horses? I want them to look a little creepy and unnatural, as they are hairless bio engineered organisms. link http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cQMXndkqjdA/UZNh0xB0U1I/AAAAAAAAHTI/kRIJmKHAjJE/s1600/IMGP0443.JPGpicture[/img] http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VjWX92lUyQE/UZNh049_TvI/AAAAAAAAHTE/G9g0_e11Y18/s1600/IMGP0444.JPGpicture[/img] http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uBFk8ROcmYQ/UZNh4KqnWgI/AAAAAAAAHTk/GkMW-cGJOak/s1600/IMGP0445.JPGpicture[/img] Edited May 15, 2013 by ImperialTemplari Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251839-15mm-40k-project/page/4/#findComment-3371757 Share on other sites
MagicMan
Maybe try mixing a skin tone in with whatever the normal horse colour would be, to give them that hairless look, then some very light purple/red washes to make the skin look unhealthy. Purple works great. :)Â Â Love how close they look to the FW riders, mate. ImperialTemplari
Hi guys, theses guys are almost ready for paint, just need to add sand to the bases, I've added some detail to the bio/ mechanical mounts, the mounts will be very pale skin coloured, with purple washes, the riders will be field grey with pink facings, all comments welcome. link http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uh3IfeMQ1zE/UZSCXdQ84LI/AAAAAAAAHUc/ucdoocKjJaM/s1600/IMGP0452.JPGpicture[/img] http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9kFRbXVSbh8/UZSCX-1f6jI/AAAAAAAAHUk/M_EzYLqbJEk/s1600/IMGP0456.JPGpicture[/img] http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i_riFGcX8wE/UZSCZGaFpkI/AAAAAAAAHU0/MWUEJ6zlirE/s1600/IMGP0457.JPGpicture[/img] http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aFtW9yIPvDg/UZSCcF3T6eI/AAAAAAAAHVY/BMTQhNc7apM/s1600/IMGP0462.JPGpicture[/img] Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251839-15mm-40k-project/page/4/#findComment-3372486 Share on other sites

ImperialTemplari
The first 6 Rough Riders are done, maybe a little too pink with the facings, but I think pink facings fit the slight Napoleonic feel, I think I will use pale blue/grey mounts for the next batch, more pics on my Blog, all comments welcome. link http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cDQw5CV_tmA/UZ8LFyp9GTI/AAAAAAAAHWo/iV_0NsC6qZw/s1600/IMGP0471.JPGpicture[/img] http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J0fDnzWk494/UZ8LCZaFh7I/AAAAAAAAHV0/Dkm-_l5M8f8/s1600/IMGP0467.JPGpicture[/img] Edited May 24, 2013 by ImperialTemplari Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251839-15mm-40k-project/page/4/#findComment-3379033 Share on other sites

ImperialTemplari
Thanks Rossnic. Hi guys, here is my WIP 15mm DKoK Ogryn unit, TBH I am not really sure about these guys, I'm not sure if they are to big, if their heads are to big, if the helmets work, what do you think? Persist with these, keep them as is? Change their heads to a gas mask hood more like the second fig, with no helmet? Not sure the officer with the chain sword works either, all comment appreciated. link http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kD2Mqn0gjSQ/UaHfU8lgUOI/AAAAAAAAHXc/wBwb-B0JQKo/s1600/IMGP0478.JPGpicture[/img] http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JLXLZM6gY_A/UaHfU6byoqI/AAAAAAAAHXg/cnBJF7fGMPk/s1600/IMGP0480.JPGpicture[/img] Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251839-15mm-40k-project/page/4/#findComment-3380521 Share on other sites
Cactus
The helmets look ace but I think their limbs are too thin. Ogryns aren't just tall with big guts, they're broad and bulky.
