Points-wise, I was thinking about 185 pts, but some help on that front would be helpful. Here is what I've come up with, and what I hope will be the last time I have to revise it: CHAPTER MASTER ADAMAS WS6-BS5-S5-T4-W3-I6-A3-LD10-SV3+ Unit Type: Infantry (Character) Wargear: Fulgurite, Impervious Storm, Frag and Krak Grenades Special Rules: Independent Character, And They Shall Know No Fear, Combat Tactics, Master of Lightning, Inspiring Presence [Fulgurite] When an electromagentic storm struck down a meteor fragment composed of an unidentified, nigh-indestructible metal element, it was shaped into a blade the length of a staff. This object was picked up by a Mechanicus expedition close to the Teraforce chapter's homeworld and, after long and careful examination, was granted as gift to the Teraforce Chapter Master. In battle, the weapon crackles with the same lightning energy that forged its current shape, and such is its intensity that very few patterns of armour and energy in the galaxy can withstand its fury. Range: - / Str: User / AP: 2 / Melee, Master-Crafted, Disruptive Disruptive: Successful Invulnerable saves made against the weapon's attacks must be re-rolled. * The weapon's reach is long, and as such, Adamas benefits from +1 Initiative (already included in his profile). [impervious Storm] When the protection of the leader of the Teraforce became paramount, so did a miracle of innovation came to pass. Developed on the nearby Forgeworld of Quartrex was a suit of armour that would ensure that no wearer would ever fall again. A sanctified suit of Power Armour from the chapter's founding had the power generator of a Storm Shield built into its very core. As such a work of art is sacred to both the Teraforce and their Mechanicus allies on Quartrex, only the Chapter Master is deemed worthy of donning the sacred relic. Virtually any weapon that strikes the protective field surrounding the armour is rendered harmless. The Impervious Storm combines lethal mobility with ultimate protection. * Adamas' saving throw of 3+ is Invulnerable, and he also gains the benefit of the Eternal Warrior special rule. [Master of Lightning] Adamas is skilled with any bladed weapon, and none moreso than the Fulgurite he had the honour of wielding when he became Chapter Master. His tireless training and effort into perfecting the use of the sacred weapon has paid off, for few opponents can stay standing in battle with him for very long. * Adamas benefits from both the Counter-Attack and Crusader special rules. [inspiring Presence] To see Adamas on the battlefield empowers the battle-brothers under his command, increasing their already exemplary fearlessness. * This has the exact rules as the Command Trait of the same name. Halftard Posted August 8, 2012 Share Posted August 8, 2012 Chapter Master: 125 points PROS: +Counter Attack and Crusader + 3++ save +Master-Crafted Power Sword with AP2 that forces rerolls of successful inv saves and grants +1 Initiative CONS: Doesnt roll on Command trait table BUT always has inspiring presence No Orbital Bombardment No ranged weapon So you add 60 points? ShasVa Posted August 8, 2012 Author Share Posted August 8, 2012 He has been re-worked since the original post: - baseline Chapter Master stats - +1 Attack - Fulgurite has the same effects as a Swarmlord Bonesaber (but where it strikes at S6, Adamas strikes at S4), and is still AP2 Master-Crafted - Impervious Storm is now 2+, 3++, and still has Eternal Warrior - no Orbital Bombardment (been hearing it is kinda useless in-game) - no ranged weapon (he is a melee-monster, and besides, Lysander has no ranged weapon either) - Rites of Battle replaces Inspiring Presence (he can roll on the Warlord Traits table now if desired) - Like Lightning special rule (Counter-Attack and Crusader) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
