An update, Brothers.

Here is a Black Knight painted in honor of my late father. I painted this one and it was presented as my single model of note for the 2014 11th Co GT:

Brother Theodore of the Vale

And a finished model of my copy of Space Hulk in progress, painted in a scheme of my own devising (homage to both Blood Angels and Deathwing): Brother's Castiell and Brother Cardium

Cardium

And last, but not least, the work in progress of my newest Brother Librarian riding upon a bike: Brother Gadreel

A shot of the forces I took to a major event a few weekends past (ATC 2015, 2 day team event in Chattanooga TN, had 250 combatants in 5 man teams at 1850, over 6 rounds).

I was pleased to come in 3-3, with only some minor errors overall. My losses were vs Tau/Tau (though to be fair we only got through 2 turns before time was called, otherwise I believe I could have pulled out a win); Eldar with 3x Wraithknights and 15ish Scat-packs (missed a Ld check while under Dominate and was chewed up by the D-weapons); and finally a Nid list with something like 9 FMCs in the last round (my Apothecary was determined to chew on his own Plasma Talon- missed, re-roll, missed, failed Armor, failed FNP).

Super cool, would love to hear more about how you made the display tray.

Its a wood burning board from AC Moore (basic cedar piece with a beville, I flipped it over so the lip gives a little grip when picking it up from the table). The Winged Sword is made of Balsawood segments (I cut them irregularly on purpose). The rock in the back is insulation foam cut irregularly, and unintentionally but to my benefit, partially melted when I used GW Spray Primer (aerosol melts insulation btw). The circular door was a donation from a friend, its from the Fortress of Redemption kit. The ruin bits are from Scibor miniatures. The texture on the board is made from toilet/tissue paper brushed with watered down elmers glue and basic sand applied. Then the whole thing is primed black and dry brushed (gently). Its served me well for just over a year (I made it for 2014 ATC) though it does flake and crack if you're not careful with storage (an issue Im working to solve with my next board for my AdMech forces).
